Oil pressure sending unit

Is there anyway of testing it? After letting it warm up and sitting at idle the gauge reads about or under half, but when I'm driving its up at 3/4 or just under. So once again, is there anyway of testing it, or would it be easier to but a new unit and replace it?

you could hook up an accurate mechanical gauge and compare the readings. the stock gauges are never going to give you a perfect reading. Especially the h20 temps!

Recently replaced my oil pressure sender because the old one was getting "twitchy", but normally read close to full scale. New one read half scale; no other changes. Accurate = NOT, but will show if there's any pressure or not. All relative, I guess
