Nats is scheduled to begin 20 Weeks from tomorrow.
I'm certain potential SyTy Nats attendees would like to make their room reservations. IF we knew where to make them at. Reservations can be cancelled if plans change. But if the rooms fill up with other events like local sporting events, family reunions, etc, our peeps won't be able to get a room, and won't attend. Pretty simple.
Time to be taken seriously that this event is happening, and will be organized well enough to be "worth it" is running out. 20 weeks. That isn't shit to plan for an event that for some is an 8-day commitment to attend.
To paraphrase the Carrier Skipper in Top Gun "This thing will be over in 20 weeks. Get on it!"

That lot is nice, but one hell of a walk back to the hotel. I sold the golf cart I had with me last time. I'm to lazy to walk that far. Might have to bring a moped instead this year.

It's showing me $132/night, but it's also stating that the SYT code doesn't exist, so I dunno if that changes pricing or anything or not?

15 Weeks from today. This thread was begun by SyTy Nationals 2-1/2 months ago. "They" haven't made a post since the following day, on the 26th.
Any news? Schedule of events? Racing or Auto-x plans? Museum or plant tour? Anything? I heard from one source a couple of weeks ago there was talk of again canceling it. Wouldn't surprise me at all. There has been ZERO communication. No promotion, no planning, no visible enthusiasm whatsoever on the part of the planning committee. I saw a number of peeps volunteer to participate with various tasks, including myself. But then nothing. Crickets. Never heard another word.
I'll admit, I've made other plans that conflict with SyTy Nats so I can't bring a SyTy, nor can I be involved with any of the activities I volunteered to do 10 weeks ago. But it's still possible to be in BG by Saturday AM. I will make it if I think there's going to be enough of a turn out to make the effort worthwhile, and something to do other than drink and swat mosquitos in the hotel parking lot.
Sorry, this event looks DOA. It's not fair to peeps that really want this to happen but have no idea what to expect, or if to schedule their attendance or not, because at this juncture with only 15 weeks to go, there doesn't appear there's much of an event to attend.
