So someone either swapped frames, or moved a vin over to a hot typhoon.

well, the motor did impress me. just didnt seem as "thrown me back in my seat" as 1st & 2nd gear.

so realistically, offering this guy $4-5k would be reasonable? maybe $6K?

A properly running SyTy should give you the funny feeling in your chest in 1st Gear and 2nd Gear (less so in heavier Typhoon). Be very careful of motor not running properly, it could need a rebuild. Pull the oil fill with the engine running and if air is being pushed out, its toast. Even if that checks out it could a ticking timebomb.

A Clone is only worth the sum of its parts. Motor $2K, OEM Cladding (Body Kit) $2K, if it runs good and in exceptional condition I would pay more than $5K for stock clone.

Re: newbie looking at a jimmy/ty conversion

I got a clone and I feel like I still lucked out even though its not the real thing. Its just 91 S10 blazer with a supposed totaled syclone drivetrain and front suspension. Supposedly it was hit on the rear passenger side of the bed and flipped it. The kid bought it for $5k and its in pretty decent shape and clean but needs a transmission. I traded my first truck for it which was a lifted blazer

I feel lucky still cause I always wanted one of these since i was 15 and even though its not the real thing its a sleeper with a killer set up.
