I picked up a syclone from a dealer down in texas that had the truck collecting dust in a warehouse. The truck was last reg. in 2006. They did start the truck weekly and kept the battery charged.

So far I have replaced the sparkplugs and wires. I did leak test and replace some lines that were leaking and set the timing to stock ( it was off by 15 deg retarded ). I am now putting in a new FPR, and walbro pump built the trans with 5 pinon planst/super servo's/ cluthes ect with a 3200 stall.

The truck runs very smooth and overall is in good condition. Any thing you guys can think of that I am leaving out to check before I race the truck let me know. I will check it with the scanner for knocks, codes ect before i run it at the track.

Also has anyone used nitrous on these truck yet. i am thinking of running a 30 shot on it.

Congrats on the truck. Do some reading and research--these truck HATE NAWZ. I am sure everybody will chime in on how nitrous and syty's don't play well with each other.

Do a "nitrous" search, I am sure you will find alot of info so you can keep your block in one piece....

I would also replace all of the vac lines. You can find replacement kits here http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66818 from SYO237. It is a fantastic kit!

Thanks, I would like to turn up the boost alittle to 18-20psi instead of runing nitrous but not sure what all I need to to to run that boost on a stock syclone.

Did you buy Syclone 1GDCT14Z9M8800351? Your description sounds like it. X2 on not using nitrous. Be careful with turning up the boost. If you end up playing with the boost use an electronic controller like a Greddy Profec, some people on here use them. If I were you I'd make sure the engine was running like it should before worrying about the boost.

That is the info that I have been going off of. I just need to check for knock and then should be ready for some stock runs other then the converter change. The stock trans was slipping real bad so we just did a complete rebuild and used raybesto blue frictions, 5 pinoin plants, servo's, shift kit ect. and went with a FTI 3200 converter. Also replaced the idler arm and did susp. checks front and back. Changed the oil and radiator fluid.

I am sure i missed some things but I will check and recheck all before racing the truck. Oh and changed the cap n rotor.

Last one we got kicked out for no cage. So did my buddies 8 sec farmont which also had no cage lol. If we go it will be to prob just watch since I still dont have a cage yet. Thats why I run mostly the 1/8th cause the track here doesnt care if you have a cage or not.

I may just bring the syclone and see what it can do.

Is it black with pritty good meats on it???(if so i think you were parked buy us) We were there last year with 2 trucks. I remeber the farmont (crazy fast) You should atleast drive the truck we will be there for sure I dont know if daves(syclone0209) truck will be done enough to bring.

The owner of gforce 1320 has the black one that ran 9.40's. Mine was the cycone grey one only ran 10.23 that night but was on the 150 shot. Ya the fairmont is my buddy stacies car that thing runs faster then that he was just babying it lol. He ran the low 8 sec pass at the end of the night running against a 9 sec GN that was talking shit so stacie turned on the bottle and handed him his ass lol. Then the guy cried to the track and told that that he didnt have a cage so they disqualified stacie. It was all still fun though lol. I will for sure try to be there again even if I dont race just to see some badass cars.

Yeah it always seems to be a good time. We will be there early but usually park in the grass. we are also usually the only guys with syclone shirts on so if you see us hit us up:tup:
