New guy from CSRA...

CSRA = Central Savannah River Area = Augusta, GA and surrounding area for those not familiar. Saw my first SyTy about ten years ago at Jackson Dragstrip in South Carolina. I was there with my 99 Mustang GT at a Test n Tune and I can still remember the sound of the spool and watching the back end hunker down when it launched. Got my first taste of positive manifold pressure a few years ago with a twin turbo swapped Lexus GS300. Have been wanting to fill that hole again and a few weeks ago one of my good friends spotted a local Ty (perhaps a member here?) in Aiken, SC. After pulling even with the Ty at a stoplight, he requested the owner give it a boost launch. The result was one that "probably wrinkled the asphalt" as my friend told it. That story made me itch in a place I didn't know I had and got me cruising for one of my own... and I hope to be making that happen next weekend. Been reading the forum as hard as possible to get up to speed and look forward to swapping some tech from time to time.

Hook up with sytyguy, Hood. He is close in your area.

Us FL guys do a bunch with GA. We are planning SyTy Shindig for next year, possibly doing Roebling. Keep an eye on the southeast forum.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Hey Aaron, it's Joe, the guy that bought your GS300. Small world and even more so that we are following the same path to vehicle ownership desires except I just bought a nicely modded Syclone. Have wanted one since 1991 and when I recently sold my Supra I picked this up. Very fun truck and a hell of a sleeper. You won't be disappointed.

Re: New guy from CSRA...

For those that didn't own this car, here is the subject in question... Was about 400ish whp when I had it, and Joe promptly put a Big Single on it. If it weren't for the Volks and large cans coming out of the back you'd never suspect a thing.

Welcome to the board. I'm 'round 3 hrs north of you (Dahlonega) and have a brother that's leaving (thank gawd) Disgusta over this year. If I can help, let me know.
