New bests for the LSx TY

Here at Infinion Raceway for some bracket racing. During the testing we ran a new best of 11.98@115, 1.87 60', 10psi. Then we followed that up with a 11.61@120, 1.839 60', 12psi. We are spinning the tires bad on the line.

Quick run down....
5.3/4l80e, tc78 turbo, 3000 stall, 18" rims on street tires, c6 z06 bracks, no weight reduction.

Videos later tonight.

You should be able to shave off 3 tenths on the 60 foot time and be knocking on the 10's real soon! Great runs..ON STREET TIRES!:tup:

Ill be a big gun when I take the Sy to the track next. The Ty will stay high 11's for a while.

I know. I should have brought the drag radials from my Sy and we could have been there. Hind sight is 20/20 I guess. The second run of the day was at 12psi and then I turned it right back down to 10. We want this motor to last so we will not be pushing it.

I cant remember. Then Matt posts the video you can see. I was in a trophy class that had all kind of cars in it. My last run, 11.99@114 on 10psi, was a bracket race against a full caged, tubed, sponsored, race car dialing in a 10.19 and ran a 10.21. The damn thing had a wheelie bar!

60* during the first two runs, about 85* on the last one. Hella cold in morning at Infinion, and windy(head wind) and hot in the afternoon.

I wuz there, racing. That is one sweet Ty. Notice how in the vid, which was a timed run, they him back back into lights after he pushed through? Don't know about any other tracks but Infineon is very good about that. Just don't do it in eliminations of course.

don, today was fun. How far did you get into the eliminations?

And just for people who might be interested, there was ZERO changes made from the 10psi runs today and the 10psi runs I made at Denver(12.7@109, 2.01 60')

A) Wind almost always blows like that in the afternoon. Just the way it is there.

B) I went three rounds loosing the third on a red light. What's so darn irritating is I know exactly what I'm doing wrong. It's a concentration - focus - mental thing. The plus side is I've never gone that many rounds on a weekend ET race so that was cool.

I had run @ a 3000+ elevation track & ran 12.80's then down to an 800 FT elevation track, no changes same boost & ran 12.2's 12.3's.

Usually the the 3000 ft track is roughly .5 seconds slower as compared to an 800 ft track .

So, in short, even a turbocharged car will run slower @ altitude. Some sites say there is no correction factor for turbocharged cars?:tdown:

:tdown: or is it :tup: Agreed. Having flown turbocharged aircraft there is, in fact, a correction factor. You could say that a turbo will self compensate by just spinning faster but there's way more to it that just that.
