Need visual on how a front stabilizer is installed?

I did a search and still have no clue, were it mounts up to?

There is one mount welded to the frame already.
The other end clamps onto the center link.

I think I have the instructions from my Rancho kit somewhere.

FYI for anyone looking for a stabilizer, I ordered one from gmpartsdirect.com for cheap
supposed to bolt right up GM PART # 88946669

Can anyone attest to how well these do or don't work? I though they were more designed for lifted trucks.

I tried it, I thought it was a big at waste of money personally. I threw that POS in the trash after a week or two.

AC Delco 509-811 (GM-88946669) is the stabilizer shock for the ZM6 off-road package. .If you don't have a 5-hole center link, you will need to buy a Rancho RS5526 stabilizer shock kit which includes the stabilizer shock, frame bracket and U-bolts for a standard 4-hole center link.

If you want a stock ZM6 Off Road package, you must buy and install the 5-hole center link GM-26038980. which costs $144.18 from GM Parts Direc plus shipping ($245.58 msrp). That would be a bolt on accessory.

.I am interested to know if the stabilizer shock helps. There is probably no difference in handling on a smooth paved street or highway and the stabilizer kit only helps prevent bump steer in a off-road situation.

I purchased a GM 5-hole center link (GM 26038980) and stabilizer shock (GM-88946669) but I have not installed them. I think my vehicle has the stabilizer shock bracket welded to the frame but I have not looked to make sure. If my S10 does not have the frame bracket, I will use the bracket included in the Rancho kit and weld it to the frame in the correct position. The frame bracket must be located where the fully extended stabilizer shock would attach to the center link and meet the frame, less one inch.

My Sy has a Rancho steering damper installed it works
great at hi speeds with less steering vibration :tup:
