Need transmission builder ASAP

Hey guys, my tranny broke a few months ago. I contact George but seems he is having some personal problems (which I understand), and he claims he had problems dealing with customers from Brazil. I even told him I would transfer the money upfront, like I do with RPM, but got no answer.
All I need is a master kit for a 700R that can hold 450hp.
Please guys, I need help!

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

Contact user Denny in NY.
He has had terrific luck with his builder and they may be more apt to deal with you overseas.

If not call rossler.
thats who did Ed Hess's tranny for his 9 sec monster.
While its not a 700R4 I am pretty sure they can help you out.

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

You need a shipping address in the US for George.

He got stung badly by someone on here a while ago (there was a lot of poor communication).

I struggled to get my 4L80E kit from him and think I was one of the last people outside the US that he dealt with.

I now use a company called Bongo. YOu ship stuff to them at their address in the US and then they ship to you very fast.

They can also buy the stuff for you - not sure how that works with George though as he seems hard to get hold of sometimes. HIs stuff was first class though.

This company also recommends you add an address to your Credit Card so any purchases you make are associated with their address. I used to have problems buying stuff from ebay and other US vendors until I did this.

I got my first shipment from them yesterday via DHL and man was it slick. Highly recommended.

If you can't get someone mentioned above to help then speak to these guys and see if they'll deal with George on your behalf.

bongo

Good luck!

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

Thanks guys. I will try Denny.
I think Rossler is out of my budget as I plan to spend less than 2K for the rebuild kit.
Haven't heard of the Raptor. Is anyone using it?

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

yeah, heard of raptor. my builder doesn't like them, but that could be because they are competition.

Just to set things straight, you didn't offer cash. You offered me to give up all of my bank account information so you could transfer funds.I told you Mastercard,VISA, American Express, Discover or Paypal. All of those can be traced and monitored. I've had 2 (possibly 3, I'd have to check my records)transactions from Brazil and they were ALL fraudulent. I will not give out my bank account information to those overseas. Whether you guys believe it or not, if you will find a vendor that will handle an overseas transaction, you treat them like gold because as small as I am, I have been burned enough that I will not do them unless they do paypal and I can contact paypal and talk to a human being and check for red flags. Yes, when you own a business, you can actually talk to a human and they WILL tell you when it looks legit. Giving up all my financial information to someone in Brazil after being screwed multiple times from the same region is just not smart.

Carl does not sell pieces. Only piece you can get is the transbrake for the 60e and 80e.
He won't even sell pieces to me except for the transbrake.

you can buy pieces from Rossler, but as far as a total package, the unit would have to be in his hands. I run a Rossler 700

or Performance Transmission in Louisiana. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/highperflist.htm they make the Raptor 700R4

Ok, this is the last PM I've sent you

I understand your concerns with payment issues but you can get my references with Mike at RPM. I recently bought a 9/11and a complete exhaust from him. I ALWAYS transfered the money and he ships after he has his hands on it. I also have good friends like Gary Shanock and Adam (SY0237), that
helped me buy the Syclone I had in Miami, and they can confirm that I'm a good guy :D
The truck will run ethanol 100 and will have around 450hp. Boost will not be more than 20psi as I plan on going with a GT30.
The only thing I need from you is to send a USD200 invoice because of the duty down here. The converter I bought from Mike came with a $250 invoice and even with that I had to pay more than $200 in taxes. I know that if the goods are lost I only get paid for what's in the invoice, but I've been working with FEDEX and UPS and never had problems.
Please let me know and thanks in advance.
Pedro

That being said, I would like to know if I send the money upfront (in cash), would you still be able to build it for me?
Thanks a lot and please, don't get me wrong, I just need a good trans.

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

here in Europe we normally transfer the money ono the bankaccount. that means we need an bankaccount number and iban number if foreign. things like that is normal here.
everybody can have my bankaccount number cause nobody can really do anything with it.

This is where I got my transmission done.

Chris is good guy and he knows his stufft. Selling and shipping to Brasil will have to be between you and him.
I saw him a few weeks ago when I got my TC restall, he have a nice shop and always have nice cars working on.

You can mention me but still, the transaction will have to be between you and him.

fyi, giving out your bank account info is no different then writing a check. The same info is there. Routing number (first 8 digits or whatever) followed by the checking account number. Thats all you need to provide other then maybe a swift number which is generic for your bank. If you are worried about fraud, you can always use Western Union, as all you need to provide is a name and address.

Doing credit card transactions overseas is WAY more risky b/c of chargebacks. Although you may win in the end, all a customer has to do is complain they never received parts or something was wrong and the merchant will immediately retract the funds while the chargeback is under investigation.. After you waste hours faxing documents, waiting on hold, talking to a supervisor who understands English, etc its a lose lose situation for the seller. Best thing to do is have signed invoices stating everything (including reduced insurance/declaration values if desired)

Pedro has always been true to his word with us. We have LOTS of customers in Brazil. No problems here, and they are very understanding as long as you lay out your terms upfront.. Communication is key. If you have any of their money and dont return an email in 48 hours they think you disappeared :)

Speaking of communication, George i have been waiting for you to call me back to discuss what was mentioned in our emails. thanks

Re: Need transmission builder ASAP

the raptor is a good tranny plus last time i checked they have a pretty good warranty. i'm not surprised at all that you had issues with george blake. PATC likes the 700 because of its efficiency and they are continuing to develop products to enhance its longevity. unlike PATC george doesn't have the capitol or engineering expertise to invest in ways to make it better so instead he tries to sell you a 4l80e and associated parts. thats pretty much the automatic response around here and i'm astonished nobody mentioned it despite your 2K limit.

personally i ended up building my own but 2 guys up here are using old raptors without any problem. i'll double check to see if they had any issues recently but anyway there is some real feedback albeit second hand. HTH.
