Need training on code $59

I made a couple of changes to my truck and now it is time for me to learn how to do my own tuning. I had a lesson a few months ago but I concentrated on learning to datalog and forgot what little I learned about tuning. If I could get someone to make a kind of guide I could look at until I could get the hang of it. As simple as you can get and step by step if possible. I would bet there are a few others that would like to try code $59 and this would be helpful to them also.

There are sticky;s in this section, fuel and boost tuning 101 that Jeff did. Don't make his efforts worthless and check them out.

Yes those post are great that Jeff has done and he has helped me alot. The info that I am looking for is the actual operation of the equiptment. Such as first adjust this table. Next go drive your truck and then then paste the log in this file. I am not computer savy so details would really help. Jeff showed me how to do this but I forgot because i have not used this info but now it is time for me to try to learn.

I played around with TunerproRT and Autotune and remembered enough of the info that Jeff told me. I believe that I will be able to tune now....... Maybe.

Re: Need training on code $59

I started writing a 'how to tune with 59' guide a few months back, based on my own experiences. I've been side-tracked lately having left the job, and getting moved back here to Wyoming. We'll be completely moved in a few weeks so maybe I can dig back into that and get it finished up..

Thanks for the offer for the refresher course Jeff, I am sure that I will need more of your help. I always have lots of questions.

I will go with you guys to the race track sometime but the truck is not quite ready for that.

Rob I hope you do finish that 59 guide. I think that would be very helpful to new tuners.

You can come to track and NOT race. They don't care. You can even take off from the light like it is a stoplight on the street.

The code59.org is a great site. It does have alot of good stuff. That is were all of the programs and bins you will need to tune (If you did not already know that).

Yup, the '59 site is great, and there is a LOT of good info there.... just like always you have to search a bit to find it. I'll try to get mine written up and pass it by Dig, Paul, and Jeff for proofing before it's released.

On the second weekend in Sept. I have to work Sat. and Sun. And if I go to the track with you guys, I want to have ty truck tuned in well enough to have a little fun.

You could always look at the beginner's guide post I made. It might not have everything you need in it but it will get you started.

Wyo post that write up you have. We are redoing the site and trying to put a bunch of useful information on it.

Paul, That post is great for beginners. It is very helpful. If it also had screenshots with it for people like me that are not good with computers. That would really be cool. Thanks for taking the time you spent making that post. It will help alot of us new tuners.
