Ok, my motor is being rebuilt for the 2nd time in 6 months. Im not going to get into it, but the shop fubared my engine big time. Now i need to get a new cam since the one i got off of big al is trash. My build at the moment is; vortec heads ported, bored 30 over, pte 60, a/a, 50 inj. Im looking for a cam, more for the top end. I go to the track every once in a while but i mainly play around on the highway. I want to be able to keep up with the higher end cars around dallas.
TIA

Wow, never would have guessed that... ;)

415 comp cam maybe...?

If you want to kick a$$ and take names on the highway, get a TT Viper or TT Vette (I know of one for sale btw ;) ).

I dont know anything about vette's and vipers im just a lonely mexican service guy. Now if i was a doctor *cough* i would probably have one of the two. What's the difference between 415 and 422.

Did you get any info on that custom cam I was telling you about?

Think lift is similar to the 415/422, but the duration was 214/210 with 112 LSA.

Custom is the way to go once you have better heads and bigger turbo.

It's all about timing now, they are a head of schedule. They are waiting for the cam, the head gaskets should be in friday. As soon as they get the gaskets they are going to start rebuilding and need the cam to finish. I should have my truck back by next weekend hopefully.

So that limits you an off the shelf cam or a cam someone has laying around. I would personally do a 415 over a 422. Your defiantely going to need a bigger turbo to keep higher end cars. I think Phil Long did 133mph with a 67 and a 415.
