Need external help

I just installed my external wastegate gate on my Sy and have a few Q's. I bypassed the wastegate solenoid and ran a "T" from the top of the gate to the turbo and the other to a regulator. And then from the regulator to the other side of the T. I went by the post on Sytyarchives.com for the direction of the vac hoses so I am sure they are right. Anyway, my boost is slow building now and I can't make more than 10lbs. So I turned my regulator to a couple different positions and nothing changes. Boost is still slow building and can't make more than 10lbs. So what should I try next? I have a Tial 35mm gate with a 20g turbo, 9/11 stall and Ultimate. One thing I used that i'm not sure may be the problem is the regulator fitting that I used. I had to use some Home Depot regulator with a red lever that turns 180 deg. Could this be the culprit? Thanks for any help.

from your description the vac hook up sounds wrong, maybe you just worded it weirdly?

boost source( turbo) to a "T". one leg of the t goes to the bottom port on the gate, and the other first goes into a regulator, then to the top port on the turbo.

I dont know if all regulators are one direction only, but mine is: you may want to double check that. The regulator your using sounds funky, that could be your problem I imagine. i've had good luck with the yellow top one I bought.

You will need to prevent the stock wg from opening, otherwise it will open once it overcomes the pressure of the spring in the actuator.

Yeah I did that too. I'll look at the regulator again and see if there is a flow direction. The vac routing you described is the way I have it, I just didn't word it right like you said, sorry I'll have to see what else I can come up with for a regulator but HD was close and didn't have shit for a selection to chose from. Thanks.

how did you eliminate the internal wastegate? You must either tack weld or wire tie the flapper valve completely shut. Even if you tighten the wg rod to the point where it is next to impossible to get back on the flapper, the exhaust pressure will still cause it to leak.

Sounds to me like the internal is still working.

To test your setup on a two ports WG you should leave the upper port on your WG alone. Get a vacuum line and connect your boost source from the turbo to the lower post on the WG. This way you should get base boost. If you don't, you have a leaking problem, possibly at the internal WG's flange...

Ok, well I looked again at the old lever from the old wastegate to make sure it was closed but what is closed? I had it turned clockwise so it was pointing at the engine. Is this closed or turn it to where the lever is poiting towards the rear of the truck? It seems this may have been the problem like you guys are saying. Thanks for your help!
