Ok Im going to buy the alky kit from http://www.alkycontrol.com/ for my typhoon but i have a few questions for people that are doing this

Info: motor is mostlly stock, ultamate chip stock, walbro water intercooler and fuel pump.

1. Should I run Alky or Meth?

2. Depending on what you think i should run were do i get it and what should i use?

3. Depending on what you think i should run how sould i mix it if i do and what should i mix it with.

thanks this is all new to me and just want to have fun with my truck. all i can get is 91 were im at unless i order 110 and that cost to much to run all the time and im trying to cut back on the knocks i get even in T1 16 mode on reg gas.

Some of this comes down to preference. I have been told by a few people to run 50/50 water/meth mix. I just tuned a guys truck that had that mix already in the tank. I didn't like it. It brought temps down but you get that extra oomph you get with 100%meth. Meth and alky are the same thing. One thing you may find is that with a stock chip, you may not be able to run a whole lot. You will need to pull fuel under boost while turning up the meth. I suppose this all depends on what you are after though.

I run denatured alcohol(because you can get it at walmart,home depot,ect). Methanol appears to be Razor's(alkycontrols) favorite according to his posts over at turbobuick.com. Its much cheaper if you can find it. Make sure there is NO lube added if you use the Meth. I've read tunning is difficult with the Sy's(isn't everything:rotf:). With my GN I increased boost to 24 psi, and removed approx 10% fuel at WOT. IMO if you're going to run alky, don't mess around with using it for a cooling effect at 15-18 psi. Go all out!:tup:

Ok sounds good i want to go all out the ultimate stock is set up for 3bar right? What is the best way to get meth and do i really need to mix it but the depends on the tune right? This is all new to me but im looking for some better run times with out going crazy and redoing the motor. Im already reaching 20lbs of boost on 110.

Razor/Alkycontrol should be able to tell you everything you need to know:tup:. Don't mix with water, tune for no knock. 20psi on alky on nothing;) The ultimate is a three bar chip. You will either need a way to take out fuel or increase boost until you reach a desired a/f ratio. Careful.:2cents:

can the stock motor and turbo handle past 20lbs i know one time the hose to the stock boost controler came off and i seen my aftermarket gauge go to about 30lbs lol i thought a big no no

again, no Sy alky experience but.... A stock motor can handle more than 20 psi as long as you don't detonate it. Tune for NO knock. Also, Alky seems to extend the operating range of the turbo. The turbo on my SVO ran completely out of steam at 18-19 psi running race gas.Now with alky it tears to 24-25 psi without any problem. Razors alky set up is nice because if you accidently overboost, the pump continues to increase alky pressure. Gives you a little safety margin. Remember, knock at 14 psi you can get away with a little(still not good), but knock at 25psi will end your day in a instant.:2cents:

Isnt 24psi T3 on the Ultimate an alky tune? I would just hook it all up and turn the alky up as needed.
