Re: need advices

Saad,

Unless you are going to put down some SERIOUS power, there is no need to buy an aftermarket crankshaft; stock crankshafts are said to be good well above 500hp without knock.

If you add a larger turbo, you'll want larger injectors. The stock injectors and pump barely give enough fuel for the stock turbo at stock boost levels. 50 pound injectors are a popular choice as there are many chipping options for them and a lot of proven combinations.

The turbos; each turbo listed will go as high as you need for PSI, it is all about how efficient it is at high boost levels. A stock turbo will get to 20psi, but will be very inefficent, while a turbo like a T66 will also get to 20psi, but will do it easier. A larger turbo generally takes more time to spool up than a smaller turbo, and generally requires a different torque converter to help the turbo spool correctly.

Correct....you'll have to have someone burn a chip for you to at least get you in the ballpark with your tune, but you are going to have trouble, being a Saudi Ty with no O2 sensor connected. You may need end up needing a wideband O2 and handheld display to tune, but I'm unsure what your fuel would do to a functioning O2 sensor.

There are a lot of fast trucks out there that are bone stock, and just tuned very well. If I were you, I'd concentrate on getting the truck running well in stock parts, or slightly upgraded bolt-ons like the fuel system and maybe a 20G turbo. If your truck runs poorly right now, you'll be very impressed with a good running stock truck. It'll be tough enough to tune a stock truck remotely, let alone one with many different upgraded aftermarket parts.

Re: need advices

so adam you advice me to rebuild it with the stock stuff ??
so ur saying that for the stro crankshaft and and the pistons??

this ty gonna make me lose my mind :banghead: maybe finally i will do nothing with
and give to my brother or take it to the j/y and make it as part source for the jimmys the live of this truck has expire .

i wanna rebuild it to be the fastest truck in my house but it seems there is nothing good for it , no parts for it , nothing at all , i started hate this truck

maybe the best this to leave it just like this and don't give it any attention
and save the mony and the time for my s10 coz this ty is just (p of s )

any way thanks adam for the help i appreciate that

Re: need advices

I think you should get it moving then bring it back to stock or whatever is the most affordable.

I think you're getting disgusted with it because you can't drive it.

Correct....stock motor, stock turbo, stock injectors, stock chip are the way to go. Trust me, it'll be faster than your friends 383 Caprice when its all running well. This will be easiest to tune as well. If you get completely fed up with it, lemme know; I'll buy it!!

Re: need advices

This is the shopping list you'd have to get the truck at least operational.....

Stock injectors and 2-BAR map sensor....free, I have them kicking around extra, and you can have them.
Stock turbo....$150 for a decent one.
Stock turbo lines...$75 for all 4 probably.
Stock downpipe if you need one ($60, I'm hoping to have one coming if you need it.)
Stock chip....$30 to have one of our vendors burn a chip for you.

$300 and you'll have everything.

I'd hate to see you give up on the truck........

I'm guessing those prices aren't to the general public....

Re: need advices

you can disconnect the TCC by crawling under the truck and looking on the drivers side of the transmission. You will see a 4-pronged weatherpack connector (VERY similar to the one on the Idle Air Control solenoid; IAC mounted on the throttle body) that plugs into the transmission, about half way down the length of the transmission pan. The wiring for both the TCC and speedometer sending unit go down the drivers side frame rail, then cross over to the tranny and transfer case...find those wires and trace them to where they end. The speedometer wire will go to the end of the transfer case, the TCC wire will go to the transmission. Unplug that wire and see if that helps your stalling when you put it in gear.

Sure those prices are public.....a decent turbo can be had for $150, lines figure $20/ea or $75 for the bundle, a reburn ran me $20 a while back, so figure an extra $10, and the downpipe is that price; one on the parts forum right now. As for the free injectors and MAP; that's me being Johnny Goodguy.

Re: need advices

I will be have a stock turbo for sale soon. It has 94k on it but it can hold 16lbs prety steady. I have turned up my control to 18psi but I have not tried highrt then that. I will let it go cheap. Soon as I remove it I will check for play and take a few pics. I have a stock 2 bar map too somewhere. And a atr aux intercooler setup too.
