Looks great Adam, glad to see some more racing video. I know first hand the video is nothing like actually driving in the events but it still is great to see.

Glad to see after years of work your truck is providing more than bills for you.

You are telling me. The video is NOTHING like the actual in vehicle experience. 165 mph in a Syclone feels a lot faster than 165 mph.

My hats off to the Formula 1 drivers. The look wicked fast on tv and I can't imagine what that must look like sitting a couple inches off the ground going 200 mph into a brake zone.

In april I topped out at 140.7 MPH in my typhoon (limited by tech requirements by far not power). I drove for several miles at 135. The difference between 110 and 135 is significant, I know 135 to 165 would be twice or three times as significant.

Racing is for sure addictive, the GF is really wanting to do the open road race again next year in her camaro but this time she wants to drive. Maybe we can get you to join us in Texas Adam.

Way to go Adam! Was the shakiness towards the end of the runs due to the track or wind turbulence?

The Texas Mile is next on the list if all goes well with my friends LS3 Turbo powered 3rd Gen RX7. Btw, he managed 207 mph on only 4 psi until his rear main seal pushed through due to excessive crankcase pressure. He was planning on running as much as 15 psi at Mojave. Crazy fast car.

The Silver State Classic idea has crossed my mind, but I haven't convinced myself I want to do that race for a couple of reasons.

Speaking of Silver State Classic, Big Red Camaro did 207 at Mojave. That normally aspirated aluminum big block sounds sweet coming down the course. Beautifully done car.

The runs were very smooth actually. The FlipHD camera does not have stability control and makes the run appear much more shaky and bouncy than it actually was. The Go Pro rear view camera was placed onto the aluminum panel which isn't as solid a mounting surface as the roll bar.

I have been told the Big Bend Open Road race is the best course to run, which is why I did that one. Well as well as closest for me.

I would be curious as to reasons why your thinking not to atleast do it once. I felt the experience was well worth it. Their are several organizations that run open road races, so be careful if political is in the mix. I know in the past a few races have had some issues. I did not see anything at Big Bend that was a concern for me, safety was #1 priority for sure and the event ran as smooth as it could considering they are trying to have total control of 60 miles of road and the weather.

Safety is my biggest concern, secondly wadding up my truck from a barrel roll. Most catastrophic accidents happen due to tire blowouts. The sustained speeds seriously stress the tires. HIllclimbs are probably just as dangerous, but I don't a blow out being as likely. I'm just being my paranoid usual self. I'll probably end up doing it anyway as it would be the last type of race the truck hasn't participated in. Roadcourse Time Trials, Hillclimbs, Standing Mile Shootouts, Drag Strip, Autocross. I'm pretty much rpm and gear limited to around 170 mph anyway.

As a rookie driver you would be limited to 125 average 140 top speed (now with your qualifications you can get a waiver by tech officials I am sure).

There were 2 tires blown at event, tires are the biggest issue and tech officials are VERY strict on date codes, speed rating, condition, etc.

I think you could run the 130-135 average class and have a lot of fun. That would give you a top speed of 168 on the course.

This race is more about doing it at the right time, not just the fastest also. Plus you can bring a passenger which makes it fun.

168 mph is about tops for my current setup anyway. I didn't design for top speed runs, more for low mid range power for road courses. I will consider open road racing as an option anyway.
