I recently replaced the stock tonneau with a Pace Edwards Bedlocker.

No more snapping and unsnapping :D just press a button to open/close.

I like that the top of the bed cover is flush with the top of the tailgate.

Unfortunately, there's no kit for the 1st gen S-truck. This is a 2nd gen kit with slight modifications to the box and trimmed rails. Hope to have more pics up soon.

That looks nice . Is that a roll down back window you have in the picture ?

I have been wondering if those rollbak type covers could be made to fit. This might annoy some of the other SyTy'ers here but I actually like to use mine as a truck once in a while and throw my mountain bike in the back which is a real pain in the ass with my current tilt up cover.

Which kit are you using and how much did it set you back? My truck is at the body shop getting some paint right now so if there was anything that needed painting or work to fit then now would be a great time for me to do it.

The Bedlocker retails for ~$1500, but I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse. The powder coating, extruded aluminum, electrics, thin profiles, etc...I think they're charging for the research and development (too much?). The JackRabbit is similar in design, but doesn't have the electronics. Retails for $800, I think.

That looks good enough to make me want to go buy a Syclone.

V, is that island even big enough to get thet thing up to speed?
You should bring it over here for the Nats and put some real miles on it.

Keep up the good clean work.

Holy crap, I had no idea they were that expensive. Are there other brands that are cheaper or are all of the roll type covers that spendy?

No, the Baers are to keep from driving into the ocean!
Nats, yup, I hope to do that one day.

There are less expensive ones, but you get what you pay for. The cheap ones usually suck.

Sorry, I forgot to weigh it. It's not light, but one person can still carry it. I have a few mods to compensate in the HP department!

I'll be selling it soon. Still figuring out an asking price.

Few more pics and installation notes:

Each rail slides and locks into the box and everything is lowered into place as a complete assembly. For extra clearance, the motors and guide hardware on each side of the box had to be removed, holes countersunk and everything reinstalled. Still, it's real easy to scratch the bed if you're not careful. The box measures 55" wide, so there's only 3/16" of clearance on either side of the box (Bed Dimensions)!

Again, this is a 2nd Gen S-truck kit, so the rails are a little long. The red lines show the ~1/4" aluminum that was removed from the front of each rail.

About an inch of aluminum was removed from the lower half of each rail to clear the tailgate flange (2nd Gens don't have this flange).

Low profile (~3/8" thick)

Re: Modified Bedlocker Tonneau Cover

Do you still have the pics? I dug this thread up to refer back to it and found red x's where there should have been pretty pictures, how disappointing.

Re: Modified Bedlocker Tonneau Cover

Yeah, sorry about that...I'm not sure where the problem lies (I don't think it's a bandwidth or restricted access problem).

Send me your email address and I'll send the pics to you.
