This engine was in the Ty I'm parting out. Has less than 6k miles. The previous owner (a local guy and forum member) was driving it when his oil pressure dropped. He shut it down and trailered it home. His wife had a fit when she saw the truck on the trailer (the money he'd been dumping in it was a bit of a sore spot for them...). It was made very clear to him that the truck needed to go, so I bought it.
Turned out the issue was the distributor gear. I replaced it (after needlessly pulling the front axle to get the oil pan off...) and it now builds good pressure at idle. I robbed several other parts for my other Ty, so this one wasn't driveable. I did get a brief video of the initial start after the fix to show oil pressure. While I had the pan off, I took some pics of the bottom end. Everything looks very nice. I also got compression numbers before pulling it:
#1 170
#2 157
#3 160
#4 165
#5 162
#6 165
McCoy uses all the good stuff in their SuperMotor. 4 bolt splayed mains, fully machined block, Eagle rods, crank shot peened and nitrided, blueprinted and balanced rotating assembly, ported and polished Stage 2 Vortec heads, polished and port-matched intake, etc. Cost from McCoy was $8800. Looking for a fraction of that (plus get all the attached goodies free).
$3,500
It will come with intake, throttle body, afpr, fuel rail and 75# injectors (he was running E85), distributor (stock), 3000 stall torque converter (used less than 4k miles), and all the rest of the stuff in the pics. Also the Vortec covers shown and stock steel ones.
If you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
I put a link to the video I made with my phone of the first start up. The gauge on the windshield is a little hard to see, but it is showing 50-60 psi. Note that I had just dropped the distributor in, so the timing was way off (also loosened a header, so there's a nice exhaust leak). The goal was just to see that I had oil pressure.
