Looking for advise on a Typhoon

SO I bought a 1993 Typhoon #1867. I am looking to get it to run some good numbers in the 1/4. I goal is Low 11's high 10's. Before everyone tries to kill me with your nuts comments or you dont have the skills or what not. I have built some very fast things.

This will not be a daily driver just a weekend toy. I am looking for some proven setups on the motor trans and suspention. I dont plan to just throw parts at the truck I know it wont work. here is what I am planning to start with:
Fuel pump Walbro 242
Fuel pressure regulator. WHat is a good place to start with for PSI?
STG Ultimate Chip 50lbs injectos
50 lbs injectors
External coolr for the IC (trans style oil cooler)
IC pump Jabsco
Air filter
Thermostat (160 degree)
Manual IC pump switch
Torque converter clutch switch
Intercooler 3/4" heater hose conversion
Good scan tool; just not sure what to get?
Alcohol/Water injection Not sure what to get?
Full tune up.

I also have a brand new Master power 70mm p-trim turbo I would love to use it on the Typhoon I have had it for a year now (turbo) and never used it DOnt ask why.

Your list might get you in the 12's, but that is far from a 10.

If you truly want a low 11, high 10 you might as well start building a new motor now.

Proven combos, will get you to where you want to go and answers a lot of questions you have or will have. I'll suggest it as will others... dont do anything until you are fully familiar with the truck and it runs at 100% in its CURRENT condition.

Forget the Ultimate chip, and forget the 50# injectors. Code59 and 65#s are a better combo. www.code59.org

Your list might get you in the 12's, but that is far from a 10.

If you truly want a low 11, high 10 you might as well start building a new motor now.

Build a new motor like or rebuilt the existing motor? If rebuild I assume better rods like H-beam, JE pistons, and a cam; but what for a cam shaft?

low 12s is bolt ons and tuneing below that your pulling the motor, and add 5k per second lower than 12s how fast is directally related to how deep your wallet is

I am going to give it the old college try I have a friend with a 1987 GN calling my Typhoon a refigerator on wheels that will never beat his 11.03 in the 1/4 GN.

VERY expensive ... talk about $3k heads, $1k+ for rods/pistons, $500 alky, $600+ crank, $1200 A/A intercooler, $1k turbo, $1k+ headers, ect ect.

Dont even get me started on 4l80e swaps and torque converters (which you WILL need) ---

For 10s:

Bigger turbo
3inch exhaust
High octane fuel
Hbeam rods
Forged pistons
4 bolt mains
Heads
Cam
Stall
Motor mounts
Driveshaft loops
Built 700R4 or 4L80E conversion
Most important (GOOD TUNE)
Those are the major things I can think of.

Honestly that doesnt seem that expensive to me to have a street truck that will run those numbers and still be able to take the wife adn child out to dinner in it.

Good stuff , not many people will sink $15k in parts in a toy ( not including mechanical wrench work ... which it sounds like you can do / visual upgrades )

The only thing, is a Tune is SOOOOO important in these things, or else you will have a $15k boat weight. I run a $1k+ fast setup, but it would pay off to use the "code 59" self tune ecu setup, if you have the time to learn it.

Are you starting with a stock truck? ---

welcome to the site, you should fit in good around here....just keep an open mind and listen to the OGs when they give advice...most of the time, they have the experience to back up their claims

Assume nothing if a ultimate chip with adjusted fuel pressure is considered tunning . Id hate to see another syty bought and blown up in the first couple months of ownership .

I say keep it stock and enjoyable .

Your 70mm Turbo is probably big enough to get you to your goals. For heads I would go Vortecs, maybe Brodix. Cam I would think you would need atleast a Comp Cams 415. I would recommend one of Turbotime custom cam (or another vendors) Injectors, 65 are going to be the smallest injector you would want for your goals, you may want to setup an injector size. Stall size depends on the turbo size.
