Re: Leaking bolt

On Horse Power TV the other day they put RTV on the first few threads and ARP lube a little further up. These were head bolts but they still went into water. Interesting.

I had the same problem with my truck . the front intake bolt behind the alt. i used the right stuff wiz can stuff. You must fill the hole completely with goop then insert bolt tighten and let it dry for at least 3 hours.

Re: Leaking bolt

all head and intake bolts must be coated in RTV. they all either go into water or oil. all holes should be cleaned up with a tap and then sprayed with carb cleaner and let dry before assembly, never had one leak while doing this.

for those with vortec's. be careful using a longer bolt in the middle of the intake. many times these holes are only so deep and you may break it off or damage the threads if you try this.
