Your truck needs some TLC for sure. Go to powertuneplus.com it will show you what you need to do, so you can get that truck to run a decent number. Tooky- creater of powertuneplus.com states that a Typhoon with reliability mods and a solid drivetrain should run between 13.4-13.8 in the 1/4 or 8.45-8.70 in the 1/8. I would start by replacing the following:
1.)Plugs- a lot of people prefer NGK ur5's for a stock setup, some others prefer the AC Delcos- I cant remember th number right off hand,
2.) good plug wires- many people use the Taylor 8mm spiro pros, Tucker auto parts sells them- he is a vendor on here and sells them cheaper than you can find them anywhere else.
3.) New brass distributor cap and roor button kit.
4.) replace all the vacuum lines.
5.) 160* thermostat
6.) make sure the intercooler pump is working, if not get a new one. I prefer the Johnson, they are also made by sureflo but the johnson fits nice in the factory location. Hotwire the pump to run all the time too.
7.) Check fuel pressure, and def. replace the filter.
8.) I would get datamaster also if you havent already.
There are some other little things you can do to improve your times. just look at powertuneplus.com, that site will tell you what direction you need to go in. I believe if you follow the steps and do the reliability mods, you'll be back with some much better timeslips.:tup: Good luck!
