L-35 heads and aluminum rear drums.

I just bought used L-35 heads and used aluminum rear drums. Now I have not set eyes on these yet. I don't think the valve covers will come with the heads. I paid $300. for all of it. They are supposed to be casting number 10238181 or 10240209, they have 6 bolt holes to hold the intake on, and they are supposed to have screw in studs. The drums are supposed to have come off of a 78-81 g body or 82-84 s-15 truck.
Does anyone see any problems with my selections?
I will be doing the porting and polishing myself. I have been reading this website and getting my learn-on.

I have also found some good magazines on this. I want roller rockers but I am not sure if I want 1.5 oir 1.6. I also want better pushrods so who makes good ones? I will need a head gasket set (maybe 2) so I believe I will go with the Victor set from Napa ( or tuckers auto parts, the guy on the list ,sorry).
my mods are stockish. walboro fuel pump, fpr, ultimate chip, KB big boy pipe no muffler (I still have the stock cat), stock turbo, engine all stock and never opened (I think?), MSD distributor (old gm distributor broke a magnet in the pick up), ac cr42ts plugs, napa brass cap and rotor, excell extreme wires, water to air IC, stock like pump from mercedes, griffin IC radiator, stock upper IC, heater hose for the lines, KB cold air kit (P.O.S.),battery relocated to right rear under bed, aftermarket boost gauge and autometer fuel pressure gauge, SMC alky kit, and datamaster on a lap top.
Future mods may include pte turbo, better cam, headers, remove the cat converter and add a muffler, 50 psi chip and injectors, and a perfect tune up,

Might want to put Poly motor mounts in at that time since you almost have to motor out any way. I did JS's setup and they rock, not too expensive for the mounts either. No experience with the drums sorry. If you have any questions let me know. Special tools for swaping heads: PS puller. Good luck. Let me know if you have questions. BTW I'm still waiting on parts from Trucker. I went ahead and bought them locally but havent recieved them from him yet. He says they are lost on the mail or something?????? Later

If the $300 was with shipping, might not have done a bad deal... but... Get the heads checked/valve job done/magnafluxed for cracks and then after this is done.... then you will know foor sure if you got a deal on the heads or not... The drums... have em checked for the Inside diameter to make sure they can be turned (If not already), to make sure they are true and round... the screw in studs are metric... I took those out and drilled out the 10mm threads and tapped 7/16" n/c threads so I could use small block chevy valve train studs and such with these heads. Then you can use the guide plates and more economical (Cheap) Small block chevy roller rockers... (watch for valve cover clearance)... If the heads need guides and such... you can go ahead and have bigger valves installed... Hell, it's only money.... good luck...

I got em!!
The local junk yard delivered them to me. It looks like he got them from philadelphia. The heads are dirty but it looks like there are no cracks around the exhaust. The drums are dirty too but there is a lot of meat to cut them smooth. I will get the heads pressure tested before I start porting and polishing.
