When I bought my Ty, it came with the keyless entry remote but it did not work. Since 03, I have lost the unit and am not sure how to go about getting another one. What is entailed in this process? Is there a universal remote? If I got a SYTY unit, how would I program it to the same signal my truck would have?

two things come to mind.
1) the receiver module that's under the console must be there and hooked up.
2) you need to program the remote.


TYTILIDIE- you can buy any remote that looks the same. then just throw in a fresh battery and reprogram.

The key FOBs are still available through GM for like $25. You can find them on Ebay sometimes for like $15. There is a aftermarket company out there that sells universal remotes which is what came with ours. I will look later today to find out what brand it is.

The remote that came with ours is a keylessride remote. I looked up there website and it looks like its discontinued.
