Installing vette brakes?

I know a guy with a 06 or 07 vette and he is going to be upgrading all of his brakes. Would these work for my ty at all? What all would be involved to install them? Anyone tried anything like this? Worth it or not?

Thanks

Re: Installing vette brakes?

Get ahold of Chris from "CBR Performance". He sells a complete "kit" that will make your buddy's old hardware (rotors and calipers) work on the syty. You'll have to talk with him but you'll need at least a 17" wheel to clear the hardware.

Re: Installing vette brakes?

CBR has a great kit but use loc-tite to hold the bolts that hold the caliper brackets to the brake adapters. mine worked loose in less than 20 miles and now I'm waiting on a replacement spacer and bolt.

for the rear you can use LS1 backing plates to bolt the corvette rear calipers and rotors on but you will probably have to ditch the emergancy brake.
look at the z51 brake thread here

Also,
the stock brake lines won't work for the rear brakes so order the earl's brake line parts listed in that thread.
It will take about 10-14 days to get all the brake line parts in since most places wont have all of them in stock.

Rear brakes are a little harder to install than the front.

the fronts took me about 2 hours from the time I took the wheels off.
the rears took me a day.
