Looking through some stuff I've accumulated and I've got a set of injectors marked this way:

The box says: Lucas fuel injector
The sticker on the box says: delphi with a part# 621020
The bag they all came in says 33 lb injector.

Are these any good for anything?

I'm currently running stock injectors, AFPR, stock pump with an Ultimate.

I decided to put these inj in. Interesting job.

Anyway there’s this little spring steel clip that keeps the stock inj attached to the fuel rail. How big a deal is this clip. The new injs don’t have any grove for the clip. I’m thinking that this was there only assembly reasons at the factory.

Going ahead with the install, comments apreciated anyway.

Thanks! Just bolted the rail down. Now it's just reassemble the engine compartment.:D

Well they’re in. Truck does -seem- to run better. For one thing it starts in just a few turns now where before I had to crank quite a bit before it started, hot or cold. Just thought that was normal. Just ran a Datamaster on a back road but the proof will be in the pudding this Wed at the strip. Should have some real Datamasters then and will post if any significant change.

Hi Brandon,

How's the Ty commin'?

Yur right but a Walbro is not in the budget right now. Season is almost over anyway. Two big items for next spring though; Walbro and Gilbert style front driveshaft. As you can see from my sig I've got one run close to breaking into the 12's now. Last Infineon date is Nov 9th then I start saving for next year.

Gettin' better though. Got three 4th place trophys on the counter. Now if I can just bring home one 1st before the end I'd be happy.

well, i have all the parts and i'm trying to get the heads off, but i got head studs so when i try to pull the passenger head off i hit the brake booster.:( i'm a little frustrated but i'm taking my time so i DON'T screw anything up.

I suspect you mean the drivers side.

Funny, I never looked. Do we all have studs? Seems odd to me that GM would use studs. I'll have to look in the manual tomarrow when I'm awake.

somebody must have put them there, factory only uses bolts.

So, Don, i wanted to ask you since you installed the new Lucas injectors or the stocks ones did you notice any great improvmemt at the track or on the street???

I have a sewt i just sent off to Mike@RPM to have them cleaned and flow checked and just wanted to get your feedback.

I think some of my stockers after 160K miles are leaking down and casuing problems and bad milage.

Well since I'm not very consistent at launching it's hard to quantify buuut... the truck did sure seem to run better. By that I mean it ran smother, starts quicker (more on that below) just felt stronger. My best time last year was 13.017 which I don't think I could have done with the old injs.

Regarding starting: This past winter I installed a set of Taylor wires from "Hood." While doing that I also removed and did a cleaning on the stock dist. replacing the 2 year old cap and rotor as well. I tested both the old and new wires with an ohm meter and was quite surprised. My old stock wires were all over the map with very high readings. The Taylor's were all virtually the same and low. (I don't have the numbers anymore but it was quite a difference.) Anyway that made even more of a difference in how quick it starts and runs. Idle is much smother and throttle response is better. I really like the quicker starts which I now attribute more to the wires than to the injs. No track experience yet. I also installed alky this winter so I have no idea what the first trip down the 1/4 will bring but the truck feels very strong. You have to remember that my Sy is the only SyTy that I've ever driven so I have no good comparison.

Short answer to your Q. Stick 'em in...

I feel the same way. I drove a showroom sy in 91 but I have know way of telling if the way it drives is normal. If there is a normal for our trucks.
