We recommend the Pavilions show in Scottsdale as well. Our GN Southwest contingent is usually there every Saturday night, but not this weekend.

Lots of cool cars are usually in attendance. Enjoy!

Re: In Phoenix

So my must do now will be replacing a leaky core plug in the block, the one above the starter. Yay! I love syty's.

Re: In Phoenix

I hate to say it, but I put stop leak in the cooling system last night. I needed to at least slow down the leak for the drive back to the hotel. I got caught looking at the ty a few minutes ago by a hotel employee looking at the ty this morning. So now he is aware that I need to work on the ty and I planned to do it in the parking lot. He is going to get with his supervisor. My gut says they won't let me.

The stop leak seems to be doing okay, leak now is only a small drip and not a stream shooting out of the core plug. Not sure if I should just trust the stop leak or attempt to knock out the plug and install a new plug.

I don't think it would take much to get it fixed. Just need to put it on jackstands, big surprise there, drop the starter, knock the old plug out and install the new one. I'd figure a couple of hours at most.

Anyone have a shop or driveway I could borrow in case I'm told no by the hotel? I guess this is my official cry for help. Thanks in advanced.

Re: In Phoenix and now broke down. :'(

All done! Old core plug was a pain in the ass to remove but finally got it out. I did have to go in with an expanding rubber plug for now that should do just fine. Syty's are always an adventure.

Matt, thanks once again for allowing me to use your tools and drive way. I owe you and your mom.

Hope the bad luck streak is over. First freeze plug then I managed to slam the car door on my right thumb. Who does that? It was painful to say the least. Always fun putting a hole in a finger nail to relieve the pressure. Now off to Yuma. Wish me luck!

I love this community.

Truck made the trip to Yuma and back with no problems. Survived one more week in Phoenix and the trip back to New Mexico.
