IAT Sensor Scaling

Can somebody confirm if the IAT sensor resistance scaling is the same as the CTS? I measured them the same at current ambient temps, but i am looking for someone to confirm.

Looking at the manual the MAT (as the manual calls it, Manifold Air Temp) Low temp produces high resistance, high produces low. 100,000 ohms at -40*, 70 ohms at 130* Best I can do at the moment, Might be able to figure it from there with a pot of hot water and cooking thermometer.

Yes they are the same. At room temp, say 70* F, you should be seeing around 3400 ohms for both sensors.

I have checked it a couple times at ambient 40deg 7350ohm, and 60deg 4600 ohm.

Both times, the IAT and CTS were close. But i wanted to verify first, because it will be difficult once the engine is running (intake heat soak).

I know a typical GM scaling is 30-100k ohms for some temp sensors. My readings align with that, so that's what i am calibrating too.

The CTS sensor is easy to check with a laser heat gun on the probe. But the IAT will be tough. So as long as both sensors use the same resistance scale, I can use the CTS calibration for both sensors.

Didn't help much but you're welcome. The difference is the IAT thermister is exposed. Faster reaction I imagine. You might use the hot water trick but that's as far as I would go. A heat gun might toast the thing. Put it in front of a heater vent in your house and see what that does...:roll:

I meant laser thermometer. Not a heat gun. You can put a thermometer on the CTS housing and get a reading. Since the IAT element is sort of free floating, it would be tougher to get a reading on it.
