After 6 years I finally got a round tuit

I am finally going to start on my '92 Typhoon. It has been waiting 6 years

for me to get off my a** and start doing something with it. Well I started. I replaced the rear axel.(It was bent) and have some new tires and wheels(also bent). If you go to those photobucket albums, in the bottom left you see a share option with some URLS. Copy the IMAGE CODE one (bottom) and paste here and they will show up:

Hard to believe that's the same truck. That was one good looking truck. What happened to it? Was it wrecked and then slowly torn apart to it's current condition?

Holy Cow! Someone else from Wyoming?! That's great! I grew up in Guernsey... now up in Sheridan. That makes at least 3 of us in Wyoming.... we may set a per capita record for SyTy's

Ron It's great to know I'm not alone in wyoming.Maybe we should start our own meets halfway in between, say a cofee shop in Casper(after I get her back on the road).Jerry

It was my son's car. It got wrecked (not his fault). Money from Ins.Co. got spent (his fault). I was fixing it back up for him, and was ready to paint it, and it got stolen. The thief burned cookies with it, and ran it into an eight inch curb.It bent the rear axel and two wheels. Then he gave it to me for some money he owed me. It sat on the back of my property for the last 6 years. Wyoming weather, and just sitting there waiting have done the rest. Still no rust though.

That would be a good place to meet Jerry. Jay is in Gillette with his Sy.... maybe we could all meet in Douglas when there is a race happening. Good luck with putting it back together... it really doesn't look all that bad...mainly a repaint and some new cladding?

Is the red lettering standard? I don't think I've sen red decals before on a black Ty, only the Syclones.

Sounds like a fun project!

Rob: Sorry I got your name wrong the first time. Need new glasses. If you look real close at the after pic you will notice that the door is a little off. The bird cage got a little tweeked when it got stolen and slammed into the curb, but I'll get it straight, just takes a little more work.

Quickstop: I think the red lettering is stock. It has the red GMC emblem on the grill, and the red lettering on the door cladding. On the tail gate it has the red "Typhoon" on the left side and the red "GMC Truck" on the right. It only had 68,000 miles on it when my son bought it, and was supposedly bone stock.

Hey mate,

this came up in another thread but it seems that the red is not stock - silver or gold IS but not red, so it looks like you have had a repaint, or decals at the very least.

No matter, looks good! If you start a project then please keep us updated with juicy pics and updates

Red was NEVER a stock color decal. 92=Silver 93=Gold

You guys are right. I talked to my son and he added the red decals. He did a real good job of it. You can't tell they are aftermarket. Maybe I will put silver back on when I repaint. The glovebox emblem and the lettering on the leather seats are silver.
