Having 147k on my Ty, miles don't bother me one bit. Sure...everyone would love to have a 20k mile time capsule of a truck, but since that isn't reality for a lot of us, I'd prefer to have the other end of the spectrum; a truck that's been regularly driven, used and maintained.
That being said....would I buy a truck with 200k, 250k,?? I'd like to see at least SOME records, but you can tell a lot by a GOOD thorough inspection of the truck. If a truck with 300k checked out well and was nicely presentable, I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy it.

My white ty just turned 190k miles. I would say its in better condition than most truck with 70k miles. Being it lived it's life in Seattle with me being I believe the 3rd owner probably helps. Fact it is stock probably saved a lot of wear and tear also. Good thing is I don't worry about adding miles to it. Heck I've put 8,000 miles on it in the past 6 months or so.
I would say location of where the truck lived/owners means more than miles.

When I bought my F250 it had 177k on the clock, but it was maintained very well and taken care of. My 87 Olds has 61k on it, but has suffered from some lot rot as a result. My S15 has 225k on it, but the road salt has ravaged the body pretty badly. Where the vehicle is from and how it's taken care of matter most. Get something from WI/MN/MI and odds are the sheet metal will be trashed.

Our 1998 Chevy Venture has 209k+ on it now. Runs, drives, rides and looks great still. Engine is still clean. On the other hand, I worked on a 120k mile Jeep a few weeks ago that had so much sludge in it that I couldn't see anything below the rockers.

It wasn't a 4.0L straight-six was it? The worst expeience I has was a '93 Cherokee what looks like that rockers were slathered in a black peanut butter. New rockers, bridges and pivots and it ran like a top.

My 91 Corolla has 310k on it now without any major repairs and it's still running decent. My 91 s10 has 210k on it and it runs better than most newer vehicles.

Yes it was. It was the worst looking engine I've ever seen that still ran. The guy wanted he to check out the tranny too. He said it was slipping "a little". It had NO fluid in it. :roll:

...and I know some people say you can wait 10,000-16,000 mile with some synthetic oil but not me. Not after seeing what was inside that Jeep!
