The iac is like a big bolt. It has a ring around it where you can put a 21mm??? wrench on it and get it out. Follow what smeagol says. The iac passage is probably dirty and needs a cleaning anyway. Take it off and do it right the first time.

You use the large deep wall socket to remove the IAC not any bolt. Stick your head back there and you'll see what I'm talking about. We can sit here typing all day but until your looking at the IAC you won't know what I mean. There is a small 2-wire I believe harness attached to it which you unlug first.

Wheres the IAC valve located?? How does it look like?? Sounds stupid, but I'm pretty sure my truck has a custom work done to it. If anybody can post a picture or give me any details I'll appreciate it.

It completely unscrews. Pretty big wrench if I remember correctly, but not super tight.

Best bet is to remove the intercooler, then the throttle body. It is directly on the lower portion of the throttle body. Once you have it off the truck, the IAC should come off easily. When cleaning - be careful with the pintle, or you'll F it up. Clean the throttle body up, as well the intake etc.

Get a new TB gasket, you might destroy yours when you remove the throttle body. It's an easy to find gasket at most parts stores.

BG,

Thanx for the info :)

I would have to agree with Green on this one. Give a tune up, new plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and you should see a difference. I also remember that when my O2 sensor finally threw a code, I replaced it, and that smoothed out my idle quite a bit.....I was like, oooh, it idles so smooth now. I guess you don't realize how smooth it's not idling till you fix it.
