I heard from everyone that you guys know how to crank some serious ponies out of a 4.3 so here I am. I've got a 2000 2dr blazer that I love to death but it's rebuild from the ground up time. So let's spend way to much money to watch ricers shit themselves, because that's effin priceless. This will be my first high performance build but I've built and rebuilt countless engines. There just always rebuilding stock or rammin a 400 crank in a 350 with a nice carb and 35s. Yay strokin it. Ive been readin and learning waitin for my approval do don't worry I'll have a bunch of questions for you.

P.S. I'm a noob why can't I post in the classifieds? Lol

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

dont try and build a s10 into a syty. its waaaay to much work and money. and in the end, youll just have a s10 with a syty motor. just put a LSx in it and call it a day. if you want a syty, buy a syty. its a buyers market. pick up someones syty with our without mods for less than what it will cost you to do a s10. just my two cents.

and since your upstate, check out sportmachines. they are upstate and super nice guys.

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

My plans are to go way past syty hp. I'm building a new engine from the ground up. And it's ganna cost. I'd like to go for 1000hp. And yes I know it's ganna be 10k easy but it's either this or hookers and beer which always gets me in trouble. And if one person tells me to do a v8 swap I'm flippin. V8s are fun but I've done way to many and it's way to boring. I've got 3 500hp+ 350s in my garage right now and just got rid of a 454.

That's just a rough number I've started with from what I've been figuring. And probably 100-200hp of that will be juice.

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

You want to make 1000 HP out of a 4.3? This should be interesting. You're going to need twin turbos so there's $6k minimum right there. A build to handle twins, there's another 6-10k+, fuel system and tune to support the power.. Give or take another 2k.

You can make some power out of a 4.3 but I think your numbers need to be a little more realistic. I've got close to 10k into my build and I'm probably around 600HP to the flywheel...

I hate to burst your bubble but a 4.3 that makes 1000 hp will cost you 25,000 to build. Not to mention 3 years to round up the parts. But im lovin your vibe..

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

just throwing it out there now,
your gonna get kicked around over here with this one.

your best bet is to do hours and hours of searching through these forums, but post over in the blowers and bottles section at s10forum. theres more info over there about the later model 4.3 stuff, like the giant fueling issue you have with the spider injection. or like the computer tuning, such as swapping to a newer ecu as an option.

its gonna cost more then 10k, i have 6k-ish into my 500-600hp build and thats doing everything except the machining myself. and its not even done yet...and i shop for deals hard core.

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

I've been to s10forums and s10planet and only a handful o people on each have any information that's remotely useful. Maybe I'll find something else to do with this sucker and save some scratch for a SyTy. Anyone got any ideas what to do with it? Maybe it'll be a thumper. Already got $1000 into the system

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

i dont recall you asking this question over there... just info about the bowtie blocks.

which theres almost no info over there about them, because no one there pushes 4.3s too 1000hp.

because it costs lots and lots of $$$, which is when most just swap in a lsx...

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

When I asked it originally my question wasn't answered it was just that I didn't need one or just use a stock block. Which wasn't my question. I dont mean to bitch about them. I was just trying to find an answer. someone at s10planet finally answered but then it went into everyone telling me to v8 swap. And then disturbingv6 answered my question.

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

most people come around and say they want to do something like this, then drop off the face of the earth.
so many people just talk and dont do anything, showing them your serious and into it will net you more serious answers.

Re: Hey y'all from upstate ny

What the hell else I got to do? I know motors so that's what I do. Through my searching a lot of people who say they want to do this probably couldnt change there spark plugs. Though I guess I was a little low in my estimation price wise. It probably won't happen now. But Im still interested in sytys and would like to get one. I was looking at a Nissan 240s. Prob snatch one of them up for a small engine build.
