dam I finally got on here! new guy here, just got my first syclone. I have all ways wanted one and finally got one. having to do some work to her as she has been sitting for five years so lots of little stuff, ticking sticky lifter, leaks, bad motor mounts,tune up,and why I was at it I am upgrading to rpm stage one turbo,42lbs injectors,alky,and turbo tweak tune.my goal in the end is high elevens. these are cool little trucks but a pain in the ASS to work on.lol I am sure I will be asking lots of questions but basically just wanted to say hello!

got on of those data master cables, what do you have to choose a program and buy it too? and which program?

Welcome to the forum.
Most use datamaster or scan master for logging. I personally like datamaster.

Never seen that optimism here before from a new owner. Oh, wait. It seems everyone that comes in here expresses the desire for "low 12's". "High 11's" is even more ambitious.
Welcome, but proceed cautiously, or your new acquisition will end up on jack stands indefinitely. These aren't GN's or BBC's on nitrous.

I like my truck in the High 20's. But it is my DD and I drive it like an old ladys fart car. :)

Welcome to the forums.
Before you go full bore on the motor, take care of the rest of the drivetrain first (motor mounts, trans/torque coverter in good condition, half shafts/CVs good to go, front props haft boot is good, and many more I am sure people will suggest).
It's easy to start working on power and immediately start breaking other stuff simply based on the sheer amount of torque these trucks put out stock, notwithstanding power upgrades.
And I daily drove my Sy for over 10 years with very few issues simply because of preventative maintenance.

Awesome purchase of an early truck. Hope to hear about your progress. Keep us informed.

when I say high 11,s I mean way down the road. first goal is to break into high 12,s and chip away from there. its been on the lift for a month now just doing maintence stuff to get it up to standards for the track. last thing to do is drop tank for up grade fuel pump then it should fire up!

Your "ticking lifter" is probably just the stock injector noise.

no this deff a tapping noise from valve train at idle . I put some marvel mystery oil in it and got reid of most of it but went ahead and put new set of lifters in it. this thing was sitting for five years so prob sticking or weak lifter not pumping up, either way for piece of mind she got new one now!

ha that's funny, my wife got a new cts-v and I told her I was gonna wax her ass with my syclone. she took her cts-v to the track and ran a 12.4@117 stock, i deff open my mouth to wrong person lol.

Gotcha. Every unmolested SyTy I've seen has had what sounds like a ticking lifter, but it's just the stock injectors.
