Re: Heavy duty Idler arm besides Moog?
Are you talking pre-88 on the K trucks?
New stuff works as well, I wanna say it's 88-92. Do a few quick searches on google to make certain.
The plate linked from Synergy uses a different style idler arm. If you go to rockauto and look up the ilder/pitman arms you'll see they look very very similar to our stock S10 style. You have to change them both for the geometry to work, and I'll usually bend/tweek the idler arm before installing it. It's at a slightly different angle than the stocker is. ZR2 guys using them hard offroad have torn the frames using these parts, some think it's the small difference in the angle of the mounting bracket and how rugged they are.
I used them before my S10 before it was lifted and they worked fine as described. My brother runs a pair on his dd S10 and has for 50k miles with no issues. They won't work on S10s with suspension lifts and the center dropped links on the steering, there shouldn't be any problem on a stock syty though.
