I did a search and noticed more people were just using random fabric to replace their headliners than buying a stock replacement.

Do they sell replacement headliners (with foam) for our trucks that match the visors ...or even include the visor material so you can replace all 3 things at once? What is the name of our stock color that I need to look for?

My headliner is sagging , but isnt ripped (yet)... can it just be reglued?

I got mine and my bud's redone by an upholstery shop a few years ago for about $100 each IIRC. From the experience of others on here and elsewhere, simply trying to reglue it is a temporary solution at best. The old foam that the headliner is attached to has to be scraped off to remove the layer that has broken down with age. Which is why it is sagging. I removed mine and my bud's when I had them redone so, the price didn't include labor to remove and reinstall it. If you opt to do this, be very careful because it is VERY brittle and will break very easily. Especially the front edge towards the windshield where there are two metal/plastic clips that hold it to the roof. HTH's

I went to the fabric store (Jo-Ann Fabric) and grabbed some black microfiber (feels just like suede) for $20. I had an upholsterer do my saggy headliner (he reinforced those front clips), the long flat trim under the rear window, and both visors for $150. While I was at it, I added some dynamat material to the roof. It made a real difference.

LMC sells a direct replacement, foam and all, for about 200 bucks. Simply plug and play. It's on my list. :squint:

i saw some real cool headliners on internet wit speakers / storage spots . ill find the website if i get a chance . i think i just googled aftermarket headliners . i found some in the lmc catalog pg 102 with speakers and 113 without . i have seen others in the past that were real nice fabric with a couple speakers.

Are you ordering dark grey or black--I can't tell which color I need for a Sy.

I recovered mine this past fall and it was relatively easy and inexpensive to do.

Once you drop the headliner, pull off the fabric. It will usually leave the soft foam behind. Remove all the foam by scrubbing the headliner with a wire brush.

** Be careful though, the headliner is just a compressed foam type material and can be pretty fragile in places **.

Once all the soft foam is removed, inspect the headliner for cracks and fractures. I had quite a few, so I layed down a couple layers of fiberglass to reinforce those areas and prevent further damage.

I went to the local Hancocks Fabrics ( or Jo Ann's or whatever you may have) and got a yard of black headliner material for like $13. Then I went to the local auto paint/supply store and got a can of headliner spray adhesive.

Spray the headliner material and the headliner itself and let them sit for a few minutes, then put them together.

Pretty easy to do. Once I had all the materials, it took about an hour and a half start to finish.

I would go black too , because even though NJSERRANO did a GREAT job above ... you can tell the dark gray isnt quite a match to the Syclone seats ... black would probably blend in better ---

Ryan and I put a black LMC headiner in one of his Syclones and it looks good. LMC uses a plactic board instead of the stock compressed foam. Lasts a lot longer and is a bit more forgiving on the install with the plastic bending not breaking. LMC was running them on special for around $150 last time I checked....

This has been on my to do list for a while. Looks like the LMC option is still available and useable. Quick follow-up, does the LMC kit come with the clips for the front or should I get clips separately elsewhere?

My foam crack about two years ago when installing a remote starter and the antenna was routed to the above the rear view mirror. I attempted to glue but the foam won't take glue and fiberglass seems too tricky for the thin foam assuming it'll stick,

P.S. Good idea with the Dynamat, it truly is noisier without the headliner in and the two (2) old pads on the roof (asphalt style) came unglued when I drop the liner a few months ago and have been driving around without anything.

I was looking at the LMC one ... and saw the options for a new inner light replacement.

Anyone get the new light cover and LED bulb? ---

Hi Dave,
Headliner is "757" in red crayon
On the firewall behind the distributor is a "SYC 77 ... 01" I believe. The "01" has been rubbed some by the plastic wiring harness covering. I couldn't find anything by the water bottle or washer bottle. May have also lost some numbers when I replaced my brake booster last summer and cleaning ... lemme know if should look another spot just in case I missed or need to pull water bottle off to see on inner fender,
