headliner questions

My headliner has developed a "bubble" where the cloth has come apart from the foam. I checked on gmpartsdirect.com and a new one is 150 includiing shipping. Anyone ever taken one to an upholstry shop to have it redone? anyone every had this problem?

Yup, just re-did mine 2 days ago. Got some headliner material from the local fabric store, a can of 3M spray adhesive, and went to town. Was kind of a pain in the ass but it looks nice now that it's done. Turned out really nice, total cost, about $30.

happened to mine but there was a problem. there's the hard plastic piece, then a layer of foam and then the fabric. my foam had completely deteriorated. tom a. was kind enough to redo it for me, but the problem is coming back. might just get a new one from www.lmctruck.com and be done with it.

I have done a few,mostly f-bodys but the same theory applies, just reapolster like stated above I personally like to use a felt type material, and use 3m spray glue its the best. plus if you do it yourself you can cut some flames,tribal or whatever design you choose out of 1/4 matting board and have a custom headliner.

it feels like the foam is screwed up on mine too. i may just throw down the bones for a new one. i am going to take it off and see what it looks like.

what, you guys dont like driving around with no headliner?

mines been out for shit... i dont even know how long now. Most local shops in my area will redoe the headliner for around $75 which includes new cloth, etc etc.

ive gotten so used to no headliner, its gonna be weird when i get off my ass and fix mine and reinstall it.

my headliner hangs really low down..

i guess thats what happens when you have a sun roof.
