Has anyone ever contacted "The magee carpet company"

I pulled out the last piece of carpet from the ty today and i found a label with all the build info on it. At the top it says "The magee carpet company". I looked for it online and fouund they changed their name to "Magee Rieter Automotive Systems"

I called them to see if they still have the mold or will even build the carpet for us. The woman on the phone said she will leave a message for a guy named tim who will call me back tomorrow. Apparently he is the one who will decide if they will make it again for us. Would anyone be interested in brand new oem carpet for the sy/ty's?

I might be interested, all depending on price. Mine is in fairly decent shape, just needs a really really good cleaning.

odds are they cannot usually they are undeer contract to GM to make XXXXX units, and unless GM orderes them they cannot make more

LMC truck sells them I thought.

It's not oem. I looked at the sites that the members recomended but the more i looked i found that the carpet is not 100% like the original and i don't want to replace the carpet with aftermarket parts if i don't have to.

You are most likely correct but hey it's worth a shot. Maybe since the carpet is discontinued the company will be allowed to produce it?

If they will make it id be willing to bet they will need a minimum order, but they might have stock left there that GM never took

Ok got a call back. Tim looked around in the basement for some leftover sets but nothing was found. He also said that he would have no problem making it for us EXCEPT GM came in a few years back and took the mold and destroyed it.

Id really doubt they destroyed it, id 99.9% of the molds are sold to the aftermarket

Well, I had that label for my carpet but was unable to find an original replacement. I used accmats, and while the carpet isn't the same shade as the original it is identical in every other aspect, as far as I can tell

AFAIK Magee was GM's carpet guys.Forever.
