This is a weird one for me....
Looking through the very informative pics of the electrical diagrams that Vermont has on his site, I can only gather that they are used to protect the ECM. Am I wrong in this assumption? Reason being, when I try to start the truck, it acts like a dead battery (voltage drops substantially and cant turn over) and the fusible link gets very hot (smokes). Now, surface voltage on the battery is 12.8V, and on cranking, drops below 7VDC. If I throw a set of jumper cables on it, she'll start fine. I am almost 100% sure it's the battery, but I dont understand what else the fusible links may be trying to protect.
