FS: Continental Tires

Background.......I'm the parts manager at a Hyundai dealership. We took a 2006 Mercedes CLS500 with the AMG sport package in on trade on a Sonata Hybrid. For some reason, a week later, the deal fell through this morning. The guy wants his Benz back, but we already put tires on it. Since they have been mounted and driven approx 20 miles on them, I cannot send them back. The sales department is going to eat them, but will entertain offers to get them off their hands. Not in a million years will we see another CLS come through here, so they will just sit.

They are Continental ContiSport Contact 3 FR: 255/40/18 Rear: 285/35/18 Diameter is 26" on the front and 25.9" on the rear. Tire Rack sells these for $1272 + shipping for the set, as seen in the link below. I have $1112.92 in them. I sold them to my sales department for $1336.00

I would use them, but I was planning on using 17" Z06 wheels all the way around. These would go good if someone were to get an 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 for their truck.

Re: FS: Continental Tires

who goes from a benz to a hundai?
We've had quite a few lately. Had this CLS500, an 03 or 05 E500, and an 08 E320 in the past few months. Hyundai is coming around, and now with the $58k Equus on the market, the brand is catching the rich people's attention.

One of my friends here has been a tech with Hyundai since the mid 90s. He has told many stories about pushing Excels off the transport with bad transmissions. I started working here in '02. Bought my wife a 2003 Sonata new for her birthday in '03. Put 93k miles on it in 3 years without a single problem. But, she wanted something bigger, so traded it in on a 2006 Envoy. I haven't really liked too many of the Hyundai's since then, but the 2011 Sonata is really nice. I've had a few as demos, and get around 29mpg doing mostly city driving. I'm driving a Gensis Coupe 3.8 as a demo now because we are pretty much out of cars. The 2012 Sonata will be out next month, so it's hard to come up with 2011s to replenish our inventory, and the next 10 2011/12 Elantras we have coming in are already sold. Pain in the ass getting a 15 month old into the back seat of a coupe with a rear facing child seat.

Kinda back on topic: Just found out today that the guy still owed $40k on the Benz that we gave him $27k for. Plus the $31k for the Sonata. It's no wonder financing didn't go through. Sales manager's fault for telling us to do all this work without getting paid on the other car first.
