First Time at Dragstrip..Look at my numbers

First time ever running down the track today, my best was 13.46 at 100MPH. 60ft times were 1.835. Here are my mods...
20g compressor with 12cm turbine turbo
AFPR
high flow fuel pump
msd coil
aux heat excahger/shurflo pump/rubber hoses
water wetter engine+intercooler
58mm TB
egr delete
NGK-Ur5 colder spark plug

Should I be running faster than this or is this okey??? What are good time to aim for??

Do you have datamaster? It would be really easy to give you pointers if we had a file to look at. I think your time could be improved by about 1 second fairly easily with race gas or alky injection.

i was running taht with a k&n cone on my syclone. Is there something wring with your truck, like internals or somethin?

you run that at the chicken ranch... er cayuga? did they get around to redoing the track there? last time i was there ('bout 5 years ago), the track was pretty shitty.

Its a syclone. And no I work at a shop and they have a OTC Scanner I use. Not a datamaster but it does the job. Is there any way to save the file from otc and post with anyone that is fimiliar with it??? Compression is good and there is no noises, so I assume everything is okey internally. Went to Cayuga and Ive never been there before but the track does look fairly new. I found my first run was the best, and the 5 after were all 98-99MPH and around 13.7ET??? Guess she got heated up after the first run. But with these modifications should I be in the high 12's???

I havent tried the 5gallons of 110unleaded mixed with the 94 octane i run.
I have about 3-5KR. The higher octance will probably bring my KR to nothing but how much gain will you see by allowing 3-5 more degrees of timing?? I cant turn up the boost to take advantage of the higher octane with the stock chip, right??

rather than guess if it got hot, get the datamster software.

Using a scanner that looks for trouble codes is apples and oranges to what you get from datamaster.

Go download the software and look at it. Then you will understand what we are trying to tell you.

Stock chip and boost levels. I was kinda nervous so I thought I would just concentrate on leavin the line with a good launch so I didnt bring my scan tool. I got to bring it next time. Ed I downloaded the software, so to actually try it I need a labtop and the $90 cable??

yes you need a laptop and a cable.

cheap pos laptop i the price range of 200-300 w/ i think 133mhz or better and the cable.

Listen before you start thinking about the expense..... consider this

300 might save you $xxxx in a motor rebuild!!!

but beside that you will no longer be BLIND when tuning your truck.

Ed, I hear what ur saying, but for now I have the OTC which tells me everything that the diacom does. I just dont no if I can send the runs on the scanner and send em to u guys for viewing??

well since you said you didnt know if it was hot from the runs i assumed you didnt have anything you could use to record everything while making a run as opposed to a fixed non portable unit in a shop.

im outta here for some BBQ.....

Ed,
I had my truck sitting after a couple of runs and the MATs went to 140-150, I think that was why my timeslips got worse. Also my kR was up to 10 with these temps. As soon as it went down to 80-85 it was running stronger and lees KR.

yes those mat temps are way to high.

I have been experiencing mats that at the line are @92 that rise to @120 by the end of then run. Outside temps during those runs at 50-60 degrees. Before i can even pickup my timeslip they are back down to the low 90's. This is on the stock ic, lines rerun, extra lower ic behind grill, and fan on oem lower ic and larger pump.

I don't know what your elevation is but 13.4@100 at around sea level is relatively slow for a 20g. Stock turbos can do that. IMO you need a scan tool that can record a run. The potential is their you just need to tune for it.

Finally Im getting alittle help, thanks for the concern guys. Down were Im located no one has these trucks and therefore no one knows how to tune them, so I'm on my own. So any help from the list is much appreciated. IC has reworked lines routed in fender, shurflo pump, atr aux heat exchanger in front of rad, scoop for lower CAC, 50/50 mix with waterwetter. The intercooler is alway cool to the touch the intake alittle warm Ive baisically done everything besied install a larger IC. The pump works and there is no air in the system. My next thing was to plump the heater core in series after the stock system and do the air conditioning thing to see if that helps lower the temp before my runs. So 140-150 is way to high after a couple runs on a fairly cool day??? O2s are usually around 950mv at WOT, and yes, stock chip, 20g, and stock injectors just replace with remanufacter ones. Im about sea level here at the track. I have recorded a few runs, and noticed that the knock is not related to boost, but did noticed that as soon as the TPS sees 100% throttle is show 3KR without any boost yet. The injector pulse width dose increase right when the TPS sees 100% throttle. Thanks again guys. Fern Sy#477
