Cant you upload your quickest time info along with a time slip in your forum profile? I thought you could also view all of that information with links to the timeslips if you want. I think whoever wants to be included should just update that information.

The only requirement should be a syty vin.

each visitor to the page can sort the "best times list" by category (drivetrain/engine/turbo/stock etc).

I think it just has to be a sy or ty vin. Thats what this site is truely about. It dont mater what anyone has done to it, its still a sy or ty just a modified one. Then everyone can see what can be done and what might be needed to get a sy or ty down to a sertain speed.

Yeah Silly, I don't have the right to say what fits and what doesn't. But who does? That's why its everyone's personal opinion. If the creator of the SyTy's came on here and said what was a SyTy and what wasn't we'd still have this debate.

If I took a S-10/Blazer and swapped the cab of a SyTy with the vin tab still intact. Made a RWD turbo v6 out of it. I could sell it as a SyTy and you guys would pay the same price for it as a real SyTy? Because, according to most of you. Its a SyTy because it has the "vin" still.. :2cents::2cents:

Yes. What you described is a frame swap with a RWD conversion.

If we were after the fastest S15 or Jimmy the list could be named as such. The requirements for such a list should be VIN. If it's not a Syty vin, then go make another list, because it's not a syty.

Seems to make sense to me? Who cares what drivetrain it has.

I think that everyone is getting a little touchy on this subject and reaching for questions just to prove a point.

By simple definition, the VIN is the ultimate decider in what is or isn't a particular automobile. It left the factory as a particular vehicle--what has been done to it since then is the users discretion. The example earlier of using an S10 4x4 frame and putting a Ty Cab on it---well, no it is not a SyTy because the VIN is also on the frame!

People that do sacreligious things like drop Ford 302's into Camaros might have been hit with the stupid stick, but it doesn't change the fact that it is a Camaro. However, if you take a mustang and put Camaro emblems on it--it is not a Camaro. So a TyClone in my opinion is not a SyTy.

If you drop an LS motor into a SyTy, it is still a SyTy--just with a heart transplant.

So the example earlier of putting an inline four banger in the GTO--yes. It is still a GTO, just not one that I would care to associate with.

Honestly everybody has their own idea of what "THEIR IDEAL SYTY IS" and syty.net is a place for us to share, discuss and enjoy them all. Some you will like, some you won't, some ideas will flop, some will be innovative.

Nolans 1200+hp v6 is impressive, honestly VERY impressive. But do you think his motor is any more stock than say a stock ls1 being put in a syty? Neither motor contains any parts originally shipped with the truck. Making those changes though doesn't remove the fact it is installed in a syty.

Is the cheapest way always the best way?You can put a big strong v8 in nearly every car but where is the special about that car?Its only fast but loosed the original charakter.What i mean is that you can make every car fast with the right engine but why misuse this limited vehicle?

Best way to say it. I agree fully. Fastest members list works, but I feel the VIN is the ultimate deciding factor for a Syty specific list.

like everyone here says the only true requirement to the list should be the VIN/build # thats all. after that just post up the specs and track times thats all.

if someone made a GTO fwd and a inline 4, its still a GTO but a poor decision. whatever it takes to get u down the strip.

The dsm guys broke it down. Stock turbo , conversions, ect.

we should do the same V6 awd single turbo. v6 awd twin turbo, 2wd, v8 conversion, ect.
