Exhaust Flex Tube

I'm looking for a section of 4" flex tube but the shortest section I can find is 7.5" long.. I don't have enough room anywhere on my downpipe to fit a piece that long.. Do any of you know where I could find a 4"x4"ish section of flex tube?

It probably doesn't even need to be 4" long... I'm thinking 2-3" would be plenty long to allow my v-band clamps to set properly and seal up..

This is what I found:

Re: Exhaust Flex Tube

We used to stock that stuff in the parts store (from 2" to 7" in 1/4" increments) and we just cut it to length for the customer. Came in a roll (length of roll dependent on ID of pipe, but IIRC, 4" came in a 10' roll) and we would just lay a section on the chop saw and bill by the inch. Got a local Fleetpride store or a non-chain parts store (these are the ones that usually have it)? If so, stop by and ask. Otherwise, head to a local heavy truck repair place, they do exhaust work and stock it too.

EDIT - should have clicked the link first before assuming what you were asking about. I thought you were talking about this stuff. I would edit my entire but post, but I wrote all that out and dammit, I'm not deleting it.

I don't see why your suggestion would not work. I'm only agreeing with you because it's what I was going to suggest. :rotf:

You want to be careful with those mattw...I have seen people collapse the inferior ones, creating other issues.
