Edelbrock Water Pump Heater Hose Nipple

I have an Edelbrock water pump. Should the nipple coming out of the top of it for the heater core be straight or at a 45' ? The only one I have to go by is Len's truck, which is a 45', but he is not running heat or A/C.
I looked at the GN Northwest's zero mile motor and can't see where the stock hose comes out. The 45's are hard to find.
Thanks

Actually now that I think about it the heater core routes from the intake manifold to the heater core. My port is plugged on the edlebrock water pump.

You can pull that plug out and put a nipple in it, at least I did.

With all due respect, straight, 90*, 45*, it doesn't matter. Put in whatever allows the hose to stay out of the way, no kinks, etc. BTW that fitting is "suction" or heater return. Not that the heater gives a darn.:rotf:

That's because the stock routing is from the intake to the heater core and the heater core to the radiator. There is no fitting on the water pump.

No disrespect taken  I'm not far along enough to know what is or isn't going to be in the way. I will be running A/C.
I've just put the lower intake on and I'm making a shopping list to replace all the nipples and sensors for the intakes and thought I could get this one while I'm at it.

Is there a preferred routing, back to the radiator as stock or back to the water pump?

Why don't you plug the nipple on the water pump and use the factory lower intake hole? It's the angled one to the left of the thermostat housing in the picture above. That one goes to one side of the heater core, then from the heater core back to the radiator? Unless your radiator doesn't have a heater hose line, then it's a moot point.

That is an option at this point as I don't have a radiator yet. Guess I'll hold off on this until I decide which way to rout it. Until I posted this thread I didn't realize the stock setup dumped back into the radiator.

Is there any benefit to either way of routing?

Re: Edelbrock Water Pump Heater Hose Nipple

Is that the fitting on the front of the water pump? if so you'll need a 90 to come out of there. A 90* street ell might be the best bet. Also 45's are easy to make just a straight hose fitting and a 45 street ell. A big turbo might make the rad fitting hard to get to. The water pump makes a good substitute.
