The ostrich has nothing to do with DM. If you don't have a bin loaded into the ostrich, then it won't have the right ALDL information for the ECM to communicate. Datamaster and the ostrich are 2 seperate things.
Datamaster doesn't communicate with ostrich, it talks to the ecm.

I knwo it coms with the ECM but for some reason when I run the Ostrich, it wont hook up. I dont why. I want to use it pretty much to do some QM runs. Ive been p[laying with Tuner Pro and doing minor tuning but the truck feels super quick right now and I want to see what its running. DM is usually pretty close in that respect Ihave found. Ive also been having trouble getting Tuner Pro to connect which is why I havent done a whole lot of tuning. Just playing wiht things and seeing how the truck responds. I have a bit of free time tomorrow and was planning on trying to get it to work better. But as far as DM goes, just want the QM Calc.

i havent fooled around with tunerpro enough to use the datalogging in it.
so i use DM to datalog, and then i analyze the runs and make the changes in tunerpro.
i was having connection problems also.
if you have a usb aldl cable, there are some settings found in the help section of tunerpro.
also patch your bin with digs connection improver.
