dist. rotor "stuck"

The rotor on my syclone seems to be stuck on the dist. How do I get it to come off ? I was thinking of hitting it with a hamer. Is there a right way of doing this ? Thanks

Hitting it with a hammer is not recommended . Most likely the dist shaft has rusted and its just "stuck". Try turning it clockwise and counter clockwise while at the same time pulling up on it. Didnt work?

Use a pair of channel lock (slip joint) plyers to crush the plastic rotor and take it off in pieces. Make sure to get all the little pieces of plastic outta the reluctor ring/magnets too.

Try the non-barbarian way - use pry bar end of the special socket for removing your wheel covers.

Although some people have mentioned that prying against the reluctor probably isn't the best idea...
