I have decided to go a different route, and need the cash for another project. This is a cool little carputer that started life being installed in a police car. The specs aren't impressive, but it could probably be used for in car monitoring or an in car ecm programmer:

I have not tried installing any sort of ALDL monitor on this, I've only set it up and upgraded the ram from 64MB to 128MB. I have confirmed that the touch screen software is installed and works properly.
