Crappy track times

Hey guys I'm back. I went to the track this weekend and ran like crap. Besides sleeping off the line I was only able to get 12 lbs at wot. This is providing the gauge is right. I reinstalled the gauge supply line into the brake booster feed on the intake plenum. Good?? I also replaced the intercooler pump and ran the rubber lines. New ATR wires and NGK plugs. Also a new conrad cap & rotor. Now is it possible for the VDO boost gauge to have gone bad or will they just stop working. The reason I ask is because the factory gauge is pegging and the VDO is only at 10-12. Before I moved the feed line they were only about 3-4 lbs different. I'm also using the ATR boost control valve. My speeds were only 86-87 mph and my times were 15.3 to 15.6. Any ideas? Also if I were to get an Ultimate chip are there any other things I should consider. I will be getting an aux. cooler to run in series with the factory exchanger. Thanx for the time and any suggestions.

Are you running any type of scan tool? If so, what is your KR, MAT, etc. Before you think about getting the Ultimate, make sure you get your truck running good before trying any type chip change like that. Sounds like you have something fairly major "out of whack", that does happen on these trucks, unfortunately. What type of chip are you using? How many miles on the truck?
If you have the boost gauge tied into the brake booster line that is the best place to have it. I would tend to trust the aftermarket gauge more than the stock unless you have a pin hole or something in the aftermarket gauge line. I'm assuming that it is a mechanical, not elec boost gauge.

Sounds like you've pretty much replaced most of the ign system. Since you have ran new intercooler lines and pump I would make sure that there are no kinks or air pockets in the system. Like I said before get some sort of scan tool on it and see if that tells you anything.

OK
1. I went to Maple Grove on sunday the 13th
2. Nope no fuel pump replacment yet. I already pressure checked it and it checks ok. Good base pressure and 1 psi of fuel for 1 psi of boost.
3. No scan tool. Did run the truck on datamaster but i can't open my DM files. KR was low and the MAT's were also low, if I remember correctly. I do intend on getting the bugs out before getting a chip but serious consideration is going into rebuilding a new heathier power plant. The truck has 109,000 miles on it. I'm running a pit bull chip and have tried swapping back to the stocker but no change. I have never readjusted the wastegate and am curious if I should do it since I am using the ATR valve which seems to control overboost better. Any suggestions on a better boost controller without a heavy pricetag. Anybody have a recipe for a good fourbolt buildup. My plans are for a 8.5 to 1, 4-bolt with 202/160 heads w/ roller rockers, roller lifters ya know all the good shit.

Thanx
P.S. NJTy180 to bad Aaron sold his Ty. Hopefully I'll see ya this spring.
