Yes i Broke it. My Syclone is pretty much bone stock but i decided to start familiarizing my self with code 59. Had it installed in about 2 hours with alot of help from Keith (sy1193). Thanks ! We decided to take it to atco and play around on a stock 31# bin.Did some tuning on the way to the track, then made the first pass. Boost at 20psi. i had to lift at the 660 from all the knocking. Ran a14.20@88 Whoo hoo!! Next pass i added 2% more fuel accross the map from 10psi and up. That got me a 13.30@99. Afr was still a bit lean for me 12.4-1 however i didnt here any knock. Decide to add 2% more fuel and make a 3rd pass. Thats when it happened. As soon as i launched the truck it made a funny sound and it would move under its own power. No forward or reverse. engine was fine still was running and nothing leaking of hanging from under the truck. It could be pushed forward but its locked if pushing backwards. Got it towed back to the pits i will have to pick it up tomorrow with the trailer. I have no idea what broke! Trans was a built 700r4. I cant believe i broke it in stock 250hp form. I guess i will blame it on code 59. !! lol IM convinced the 3rd pass was a 12.99. Not bad for a starter bin and 10 min of tuning time!!
I have a go pro video of the breakage. will post later.

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

why haven't you logged your 1/4?
with your fast cars and all i think it's weird you make these changes in the pitbox, and than without logging do 1/4 wot runs without knowing what the result is?

anyway, it sucks

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

we did some driving around before the track had the boost locked down at 12 psi. It was looking pretty safe so we started to bring the boost up. There was only 6* of knock retard on the first pass so thats the reason for lifting . In all the the tuning was going in the right direction until the drive line broke. This was version 5 of code 59. I did have a very hard time reading the logs. They are way to small. Its there a full screen mode for viewing this that im missing. My big stuff gives me a full screen chart to look at and the code 59 is a small heartbeat line.

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

I tend to use the dash and go frame by frame through the log and adjust my tables accordingly.

there is a graph, values, and flags screen also in TP4.

TP5 has the overlay graphing function now, which I will admit I have not had much luck getting it to log well but read the other day dig and some other people figured out some adjustments to settings to make it all work.

TP5 you can create your own dashs and graphs of what you want to see.

You must have not turned the "dont break shit" flag on. Its in section 1.53.522.4523.2.4

go to "View", 'Floating Utility Tab', move monitor screen to second monitor, or just go full screen with it.

EDIT ... TP5 only

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

I didn't think that feature was available on the SyTy version of Code59. :rotf:

Your half right. The feature is available, but it is grayed out so that you can't turn it on.

20 psi of boost is quite a ways North of stock!
Alky?

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

Guess it is time for me to chime in here.....

Never had such a day!

One thing to note here: The drive train broke (a built 700r4) from the awesome power of Code$59.

:rotf:

Frank has left a few details out. The Starter tune (Dig's 33lb. Starter bin) was remarkably very good right out of the box so to speak. We did some drivablilty tuning on the street and there was little to no timing being pulled. Knock was .20 to .40 at most when we turned up from 12 psi to 20 psi.

....Broken Planet in trans.

Re: Code 59 broke my truck!!

You install $59 and tune on the way to the track. I have been messing with my tune forever and i'm still a little afraid to run it down the track. I need to get over that.

cough cough........ the Stock 33lb Bin on the Code59 Site is the one I made...not Dig :). I broke my Trans on this bin also.. burned up the clutches at the track. So I went to an 80e... :-b

I purposely left the bin a little rich so people could lean it out themselves to match their setup. Last thing I wanted to do was put a bin up that would blow up someones motor :-b. The bin isnt' perfect but is a good starter for everyone. This was the only bin we tested with on a working vehicle on Code59. Dig Sy and Jeffs Ty weren't running at the time. I did all the testing on a running SyTy.

Sorry Paul. My apologies...
...but now that I got your attention could you make the graphs in the playback area just one graph? PLEASE! (TP5) One big graph would be great. The ablity to just have one graph with selectable "stuff" would be ideal. I am having trouble on a 22" and real trouble on any laptop screen because 4 graphs at once are still small and I don't have 4 sets of eyes anyway...lol.

Paul great job on the #33 starter bin . My truck drove almost perfect @15psi. very little tweaking needed if your leaving it stockish. Im no stranger to the method of tuning all though i am new as a user of code 59. If im right i see no way to do closed loop with wide open throttle. I think this would be a very good tool for tuning. I use it all the time in Big stuff 3. It lets you set a limit say 10% it will not rich en or lean your target by more than that. This way when you logging you can see how much the ecu was correcting then go back into you map and make those changes. My Big stuff maps for my ty where within my target AFR settings within 10 passes. Thats a huge time saver!!

Logging window as keith above stated is way small. Is there something that can be done to give us a full screen of flags that we can select say RPM,Boost,Knock,AFR ect then lay them on one full screen view. Even if the log time was limited say for 45 sec. You dont need more than that to log WOT passes. The log now really isnt good for drag racing application. I could post a pic of a Big log if you need an example.

Other wise im picking it up quickly it a very powerful tool !!amazing for a 20 year old piece of hardware.

Thanks
