Close Call!

Had a very close call the night before last....Alright here goes: So my friend and I are on our way back to my house after we went to a pontiac meet with a few of our friends.(I'm driving the GT.) So we stop by a gas station to get a drink and proceed on our way back to my house to hang out. I get into my nieghborhood and there is this road that curves....So I figure what the hell, it is 11:30 at night and no one is out..WRONG! So going around this curve I jam my foot in the gas and get the truck going sideways pretty good. I look up and down about 300 feet theres an F'in cop car sittin there!!! In the middle of a nieghborhood!!! I quickly let off and get it out of slidin and drive up to him and pass him going slowly, he does a U-turn and flips his lights on, I'm about shittin myself at this point....So I pullover and he asks me for liscense and Insurance, I give him both and act as polite as possible... :roll: So he goes to his car, he comes back a few minutes later, I'm expecting somethin pretty bad, then he hands me my insurance and liscense and tells me not to do it again and walks away! LOL So yea, I'm alot more paranoid of cops now. It just sucked because I drive very rule abidingly most of the time, always stop completely at stop signs and go speed limits, Etc.So I've never had a ticket or anything...I'm glad the guy gave me a break though, that woulda made for a bad night....

I got out of a ticket because I have a clean record :tup: ... I came through an intersection (at the speed limit) which had a lip I didn't know about .... got the front end airborne :lol: ... cop didn't like that too much

being 17 and saying you've never gotten a ticket isn't that impressive...

if you make it past say 21/25/30 w/o a ticket maybe

I've done this in a intersection with the Camaro.. but I got all 4 off the ground.. :lol: The light where I did it at takes FOR EVER to turn, so I was easily doing 30+ over when I hit it, lol. It was fun.

You know, if the cop didnt ask you what you did when he asked for your license and insurance card, and then came back with a ticket you could have fought it.

Hahahahhahahha, thats funny....there is a stop sign half way down my street at a T....I blow that ****er everynight....I am waiting for the ticket one day on that one....

I was ticket free until I turned 17 :rotf: I had a close call recently too, but I'll make another thread about that.

I can attest to those oh s**t feelings. The night after I bought my '87 Buick GN, a friend came over for a ride in it. As I got on the freeway on ramp I hammered it, hit the freeway with the speedo pegged (it only goes to 85) and rolled out of it shortly after it shifted into 3rd. Cop rolled up shortly there after & pulls me over. Needless to say my anwsers to his questions consited of yes sir, no sir. He said he knew I was doing over a 100mph (more like 120+), but could only get me for 80 in a 65. Luckly he was cool about it and let me go. I promply, within the speed limit, went home and cleaned my shorts out.

Hahahahhahahha, thats funny....there is a stop sign half way down my street at a T....I blow that ****er everynight....I am waiting for the ticket one day on that one....

Theres one near a set of railroad tracks by one of my friends house.. I've passed people that stop at this stupid sign.. the train comes thru our town maybe, MAYBE 3 times a year. They should of put up little lights for it and not a stop sign.

I know it isn't that impressive, but its seems to make a big difference when you goto court. I am 5 for 5 in getting out of tickets in court (all of those were in my first 6 years of driving) Usually right at the end of the trial after you give a rebuttal, they ask about your driving record. On 2 of the tickets, I thought the trial was going badly, in particular the one where I was spinning the tires going into 2nd gear, where the police department gave a very detailed and damaging description of the event. The driving record was the saver, the judge in that case seemed to had already made her mind up, but when I told her I had no ticket she seem to choke on her words. I could see in her face she was surprised. She had a sort of private 1 minute conversation with the police department before letting me off.

I had a friend, he thought a few time he was going to win, but they asked about his driving record and that was the killer every time.

Yes, my many reckless driving tickets and 6 point exams have never helped me out much in court. :tdown:

Yea I realize that, but I'm just trying to point out that a very good amount of teenagers in my area that drive are absolutely horrible drivers. They all have like brand new cars that their mommy and daddy bought them though. So you can tell most of them don't know the value of a dollar. Hell, I know one kid that has been driving for two years....he has gone through 3 BRAND NEW chevy trucks because he has totaled 2 of them. :roll:

Agreed ... I know a girl who totaled her mercedes c240 4matic... and got a brand new identcial one to replace it :roll: ... the parking lot at my school looks like a late model european car lot ... bmw, porsche, mercedes, audi, VW, etc etc ... I'm one of about 6 / 68 that drive american built cars... and the only pickup :tup: ... hand-me-down '95 sierra... I'm driver #4

Wow, 68! theres like a couple thousand kids at my school. Not sure how many drive though....if I had to guess I would say like 500 drive to school, theres ALOT of mustangs and Jettas, some kid has one of those new SS silverados and another has an escalade with like 24's or 26's on it or something, Theres at least 10 of the Wrx sti's...i remember seeing acouple lightnings too....how highschool kids obtain these cars..puzzles the hell out of me :squint: :screwy:

I meant my class. ... we have 380 total ... I believe just over 100 with cars ... most of which are nice new euro-sedans. They can't have the same fun in the snowbanks as I can :rotf: ... we had one 4 foot bank I jumped with my sierra at an afterschool gathering .... then tried it with a suburban and got very hung up ... and of course, there weren't any trucks to help me out so I was doing a lot of shoveling :roll: ... come spring time when I start driving my dad's old Saab I get to be the oldest and highest mileage car on campus (faculty and staff included :lol: )
