title seys most of it, but my uncle's messin with the truck and getting it in good condition, but hears a clicking noise in the front when he turns. He hasn't investigated it yet, but I decided it would be good to ask syty guys first. Any ideas? Also, one of my front and rear wheels are bent and the ride is very rough, so does anyone on here have an idea of where to only get 2 wheels? Thanks

Wheels - hit ebay up
Clicking - there are a couple possibilities, but for sure check out the CV axles. check for torn boots, leaking grease etc... they may be totally shot, or maybe just need lubed up well.

I have seen them on ebay but you should post up in the wanted section. Im sure someone has some laying around but you might end up having to buy a whole set. Dont forget that the front and rear wheels are different backspacing though.
Or you could always buy a good set of 17's or 18's and some big brakes.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

Ours clicks, and the lower balljoint on the drivers side is shot, so that may be a possibility. Like previously mentioned, check the CVs.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

It's a little known fact but if the rubber "O" rings that go around your center caps are shot, they will cause a clicking noise. The owner of syty.net Keith used to sell a replacement set. As far as the wheels go, post in the WTB "Want To Buy" section as there are always folks who have stock rims for sale.

I live in San Antonio (when I am in the good ol US) and have wheels that I have considered selling. I wont be back in town till mid-summer though.
My suggestion would be to ditch the stock wheels all together. If you do end up getting straight ones, they will also bend. I have had a set of SyTy rims "straightened" at a wheel repair place in Ohio. They lasted for a couple of years, until one got a little tweaked again. I went with Corvette wheels on both my Sy and Ty and havent looked back. Getting some decent aftermarket wheels might be your best bet IMHO.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

Everytime mine did that it was a shot CV joint, now i replaced them with EMPI units and havent heard them click clack again.
When you throw it on reverse and hear hard noises when turnin means that they are about to blow and wouldnt recomend driving it like that.
And yeah, the original wheels are way to soft for any decent fun driving. I also ended up ditching my stock wheels for a set of 17" x 8" RHOs, it feels pretty good, looks better IMO and they dont rub on the front cladding.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

I really wanted to get some other wheels, but I just got new tires from tire rack a week ago for the stockers :( Anyone know of some (good looking) wheels that a stock tire could be on?

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

Our stockers size is very rare and thats why the tires are expensive compared to equal width 17 or 18s. Havent seen any better looking 16s than the stockers tho.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

sell your tires that you just bought or as a set with tires and wheels on here. Im sure someone would be interested in them. I hear that shipping for tires isnt that expensive.

Re: Clicking in front on turns?

Mine clicked, replaced half shaft. Fixed it...Then pop started, took propshaft out and that sound stopped. Had propshaft balanced but haven't put it back in yet. Hoping no more sounds after that, or that my visous coupler is not shot. Good luck.
