brake pad options

Looking for new pads, I've come upon a dilema, what the hell to buy?

Im looking at performance friction z's, but the ones I have now dust quite a bit. Raybestos offeres a ceramic set that claim not to dust, but I have no clue as to the performance of them. (and have a beefy price compared to the PF's)

To my experience, My truck usually has one good panic stop in it before serious fade shows up.

Anyone have any input as to what your using and your expereince with different pads?

Dont have the bills to throw some new calipers/rotars, but would at least like to get the best overall braking out of the stock setup, and get some advice for others to search for.

Re: brake pad options

This is what i'm using:

HAWK PERFORMANCE P/N HB119N.594 HP Plus Compound

I have to tell you that those pads on stock rotors are assume but they dust pretty good and they eat rotors. But the braking is just assume, you can feel the difference right away. It feels like the pads are grabbing the rotors twice as good as stock pads. I'm going to replace my rotors with something better at next brake job. I paid about $67 for these pads with discount thrue my dealership.

The reason i bought these pads are that i have a friend with a 2G DSM Auto, he could not hold his car on the line due to brakes. He installed these pads and SS brake lines, after that no more creeping off the line with his 2G DSM. And as we all know the Sy/Ty are famus for creeping off the line at higher boost (during power braking) so i thought i'll try these pads on my Sy.

Brake's

Brake's

When I upgraded my front brake's I went with cross-drilled rotor's, new brake line's, and ceramic pad's. There is large improvement in braking with this set-up. I will have to look up my receipt's for the brand of the pad's.

I'm running the hawk street/track pads. Got em off tirerack. Love em. Hold really well. With minimal pressure they act like normal pads, but when you lay on them they grab really well.

Sounds great, lets hear it. What brands on the other parts as well? Were the lines SS braided?

vgx pads. i dont know where you can get them over there . i go to my local partsstore to get them ( not pepboys or anything like that). i get them where i get all the parts for my customers cars. i love them they seem to hold real well. i never had a problem with them as far as brake fade or anything like that.
