Bowtie head info

Looking into buying a head and intake setup from a friend who bought my old syclone. I was looking at vortecs but this seems better. Running a 6266 turbo and 2800 stall. 75# injectors. Stock block I need to have built. What all needs changed to run this setup? It's a 23 degree low port head I guess. I never followed this stuff because it used to be out of my price range.

Re: Bowtie head info

A custom set of headers is required at the minimum... From the pictures it is evident that they also have raised exhaust ports. That is the reason for custom headers...

As a side note and shameless plug...
I just purchased a few sets of briodix -8 straight plug heads that will bolt on with all of the stock components and will fit with stock manifolds, intake and exhaust. The only thing that they need are sparkplug wires with ceramic boots or heat shielding because the plugs are close to the manifolds.

See how the ports are centered with the bolt holes?

And here they are with the stock manifolds are bolted together...

How much do those run?

12 Second Sy,
Looks to me that those heads will need a custom set of headers for them to work. Also you would have to spin the motor pretty hard to to realize any gains over the -8 heads that fivetodrive posted here. I would buy the -8 heads and not look back (good Price by the way), Your buy in cost for the head swap are a lot cheaper on the Brodix and less issues.

I am currently running Brodix -8's with a 6266 turbo. Great combo if you have the right cam. I run a custom cam that's 218/218 with 528/528 lift with RPM 1 5/8" headers and a 3k stall.

What are the casting numbers? Depending on that you may be getting yourself in to a whole different world than you're used to or even care to get in to.

Can you tell me a little more about yours? Stock intake? Boost? Fuel? What's done to the bottom end? What have you tuned with? And most importantly how fast is it? Lol

Re: Bowtie head info

if I paid $1,000 for everything pictured(intake included) would this or the Brodix be the better option? These would also come with rockers and all.

I don't know that I can get them for that price but he might. They were on my old syclone which I hooked him up on the price of the truck when it was stock

Again it greatly depends on the casting, you could be getting yourself in to big trouble.

Re: Bowtie head info

I'm going to pass on them. Doesn't seem worth the trouble. Thanks for the info everyone.

Re: Bowtie head info

We would still like to know the casting numbers. That makes all of the difference. Just one picture without any more info makes it extremely difficult to determine what would be needed or if there is other use. ie seeing the rockers mounted, seeing what was done for the pushrods, what the intake ports look like, the size of the valves the number on the intake... ect...
