Belltech Sway Bar

I purchased the Belltech sway bars as part of the group purchase a little over a year ago. In the past, I have come across posts concerning the rear sway bar bracket on a typhoon breaking. So, the other day, I hear a clanking from my truck, and the sway bar bracket on one side is broken.

I tried to search for posts to see what others have done about this, but no luck. What have other's with the same problem done???

Re: Belltech Sway Bar

I had the same thing happen on both sides of my sway bar. The bolt holding the bar to the bracket was hitting against the top of the leaf spring when it compressed, which snapped the bracket. I called Belltech and got them to send two new brackets. When I put the new ones on, I only put one bushing between the sway bar and the bracket, instead of the two they show. I put two bushings on top of the bracket instead of one so everything would still fit together. I also put the nut on top instead of the bottom. Doing both these gave more clearance from the leaf spring, and I haven't had any trouble since (about a year).

I added 1" angled block on the rear to avoid the hitting leaf and bolt-head.

My friend reinforced the bracket to weld another side.

Before anyone posted a reply, I just went ahead and made some new brackets. I did make the bracket a little taller because I noticed that the sway bar would rub part of the leaf spring. The bracket I made looks very similar to the one hideakimura posted. I will put up some pictures later on.
